What is this particular style of jacket called? I believe the one pictured is a Goodwear repro of a Monarch, and the style looks very 40s. Does this model have a proper name? I'm guessing many brands offered a version of it
Back in my punk rocker days, my no-name biker jacket (lapels full of badges and band pins of course) would exclusively be worn over a hoodie once the season turned to Winter
Got my Aero Wayfarer, looking forward to wearing it out of the house later (will remove tag so as to avoid a Minnie Pearl situation). Chloe at Aero was terrific, I fully trusted her guidance re: sizing and got exactly what i wanted.
Aero should be shipping out my brown CXLHH Wayfarer later this week, I'm excited but a bit anxious about the fit, as I haven't had one of their slimmer cut 30's or 40's jackets before
In my experience, the turnaround time from entering production to finished product at Aero is about two weeks but I would definitely anticipate the waiting period being longer than that this time
Wearing my aero route 66 around the house in anticipation of the fall weather. Sadly it looks like Aero discontinued this model after the recent sale, as well as a few other models. It's a real shame, it's one of their best looking ones imo (obviously biased)
He certainly seems like a blowhard but you also have take into account him being a native NYer, "blowhard jerk" is the default setting for a good portion of them. My limited interaction with Stu was an email exchange with him a few years ago inquiring about a jacket, and he seemed polite enough...
I've had the wool before, as you said it's very scratchy. I have the corduroy lining in one my Aeros and it's quite warm and looks good too. For the Aero I ordered during the sale, I went with the Shetland tweed option, we'll see how that fares.
