I know I am supposed to switch to straw today, but I was comfy and lazy and really didn't want to switch out the whole hat rack. Hanging on the deck here wearing my Eric Watson vented, dress weight Explorer.
Thanks. Made by Eric Watson in Cave Creek, Arizona. He calls it the Explorer, dress weight beaver, double diamond vents, Sahara color, with navy 16 line ribbon and a 2 7/8” brim. Nice and cool with the vents, which honestly look too small to be functional.
LOL. Virtually all of my hats, western or fedora, are dipped front (and sometimes rear) by choice and design. I just got this one to see if I could duplicate the "JW Pepper" hat from the James Bond film.
I have noticed the same thing. "Long oval" is not at all consistent. This 7 1/2 long oval is perfectly flat on the table, but bows significantly when I put it on. I think I am doomed, if that's the right word, to custom fitting.
