Hot and sunny today, and we are heading out to pick up rocks in the pumpkin field. Yeah, baby!! So, it’s the lightest weight, biggest brim hat I own today..
Again I ask, do they have to be famous? If not here’s me at a recent Dixie gig. Wore the hat on a dare. Was fun so I thought I’d share. I’m like, you’re actually daring me to wear a hat? OH, ITS ON!!
Usually wear a beat up old pork pie on the farm, but it doesn’t really offer much relief from the sun, as you can imagine. I have a couple bigger brim hats, but didn’t want to destroy them on the farm (like I did with the pork pie!), so I picked up this inexpensive Walrus brand felt. Think it’ll...
Thanks, man! Kind of my first step into non-super stingy felts. When I was shopping online for a wider brim hat, I found its measurements indicated 2.5 inch brim, when I was trying it on in the store, however, I think the brim is closer to 2 1/8 or so. Regardless, I liked the color and feel so...
Well, I took the plunge and got my first non-stingy fedora!!! Yes, yes, it’s just a straw, but a definite departure from the norm for me... I am surprised at how much I like it. Summer just beginning here in MA, so I got a few months to pick out my first non-stingy felt for the fall!!
That would be terrific! Thanks! Anyone else feel like sharing pics of their non-black homburg? Perhaps a thread of its own? So as not to clutter up AAQ, GAA??
So, who can recommend a maker with a decent selection of non-black homburgs? I know,I know, they are “supposed” to be black, very formal and all that, but I’m not much into black hats, too serious... plus, I have 4 dogs, if you get my drift... thanks!
Oh, as long as I’m here, for all you eBay...
It was an ear protection day on the farm, so I couldn't wear anything with a brim (even a stingy one!). So today hauling apples in from the field in the bush hat...
Brixton. Still getting used to it, it's definitely a different shape than I am used to wearing (more partial to pork pies and stout diamond crowns), and I am not a big fan of the hat band. A nice dark purple pug would sharpen it up nicely. We shall see.
