Hey, thanks for the replay. Sorry I didn’t respond earlier, ended up having to actually work for my paycheck.
I’ll try the conditioner again. I did it once follright after I got caught in the rain. I didn’t wear it dry, I draped it over a chair and when it was finally dry it was like armor.
OK, I have a jacket made from Blattwerk Dark Brown Horse, which I got wet and now it's about as stiff as Bernie. I've tried wearing it, and still hasn't loosened up. Any ideas aside from get it wet again and see what happens?
Sorry for being late to this. Crazy at work recently. I paid for my original amount for the jacket with my credit card, which I had to jump through flaming hoops to do because my bank (Wells Fargo) kept blocking it. I spoke with Debs and put the balance (the extra for the Shinki) though PayPal...
I have a Roadster in the Clayton. And I would say it's 3 oz, maybe a touch more. But, it is very stiff and take a ton to break in. Mine will still stand on its own even after a full year of wear.
It also has a very leathery smell, which may not bother most of us, but my wife hates it. Oh well...
My pleasure!
Now, here's a question for everyone here. How do we care for Shinki. I know CXL we can just beat on the leather, but Shinki seems a little too nice to toss onto the floor of my Jeep.
Your timing was perfect. I had to wait for them to get an order of Shinki, so I think it'll take a considerably less time for you. But, from build to delivery was only about 3 weeks total, keeping in mind I am in the US, so shipping too several days.
I'd guess that so long as they still had the...
Good luck with your jacket. I just got mine yesterday, a SB Roadster in Chocolate Shinki, and it's absolutely amazing. I was always skeptical about Shinki, since it seemed to have a cult like following and I tend to just discount it. But...it's the nicest leather I've had on any of my jackets...
That's great news! I put it out all day on Sunday, but it was a little overcast all day and then the barn cats decided they were interested and I had to scrap the idea early. Last thing I need is a kitty nesting in it. I might try it this weekend if it's not 30 degrees again. If it is cold, I...
Well, I don't think there was anything in the Jeep that would smell fishy, since my wife and I are both allergic to different types of fish, but the spilling bourbon on myself is a definite option. Might do that this weekend!
And that's exactly what they smell like. I put it outside like Ton had suggested, but since we have barn cats everywhere, I didn't leave it out too long. Might need to go to the porch and sit for a while.
