Question for you eBay jacket sellers- do you use a mannequin of some sort to shoot images of your jacket? Do you think this helps to communicate better what you are offering?
Hey a little self discipline here guys- this thread is about insurrection's new full grain veg tanned leather- period. It ain't about the nuances of this leather being or not being the 'best all time effin leather ever!' Such discussions have been handled elsewhere, as has been suggested.
Have you seen the new Italian veg tanned dark seal leather that Carrie is getting over at Insurrection? Given the veg tanning, that is a contender for rich patina building.
Seb- any chance of a pick of how your goat jacket is aging? Don't want to hijack this thread, but would love to see an example. I quite like the grain of the goat, but dislike the new look that seems to last.
Far too many riders are willing to trade off some safety gear for looking cool. If you want to look cool, save it for walking down the street. Otherwise, yeah- you'll look cool as you're being thrown off your bike and heading for the pavement, but moments after that all that fashion panache...
You are correct about the current owners so Belstaff. However, the previous owners, who steered the line fairly successfully between their well defined motorcycle designs and their fashion line have reincarnated in their new brand- Matchless Jackets. Worth taking a gander at, but warning-...
Butte dude- we get it that you don't dig Alexander Leathers. But quite honestly, your constant neg vibes at anything Alexander is getting a bit lame. Not everyone sees the leather world through the same optics as you do. Much of what you contribute to this community is helpful, and I- a newbie...
Hey Pak,
Check out the Atwood by Magnoli- http://www.magnoliclothiers.com/atwood-jacket-by-magnoli-clothiers-custom-made-leather-jackets-p-233.html. I have been eyeing this design for awhile, as Magnoli seem to be pretty reputable.
Was just on their website, and must admit I am not too impressed. Seem to be trying to make a profit on an old label. Only front and back images of the jacket are available, as you show. There are no real description of the jackets- pocket details, liner, etc. But most importantly they don't...
I am surprised at the 'puffy' comment. I own a number of bischwing jackets, and if they are properly sized and fitted- this is never a problem. On the other hand, I have noted many times an image that someone on this site has posted of their new jacket with a simple paneled back, and it appears...
I wonder if it is not the whole 'war' thing- don't most people see it through 'historic' lenses today? Your point about young men (old teenagers!) being the group that created A-2's is well taken- but I wonder if today that is lost on the majority. You, and like minded aficionados can well...
I don't really get the 'posing' comments- isn't it all relative to what, where and who you are? If you in any way hang out with military type folk, then you'll likey look out of place in a cafe racer. Where I live- slightly tougher urban area- I'd look out of place in an A-2. If you're younger...
