    Sentimental Journey

Great pic Hi Stearman, Thanks for posting that great picture. I'm hoping that one of these days I will have the money to buy a ride at an airshow on a B-17 or B-25. So for now, watching videos and looking at pictures will have to do ....

    Sentimental Journey

Hello all, Here is a link to a video clip of noted wildlife photographer Moose Peterson's recent foray into A2A (Air to Air) photography. The video (about 14 minutes) shows him and his class photographing the CAF B-17 Sentimental Journey in flight in Arizona. Also there are a couple...

    New Book--Major Dick Winters

Major Dick Winters From what I read, it was in keeping with his wishes. He wanted a simple, private ceremony. If word had gotten out, I bet that this would not have been possible. I would imagine that the press would have descended on the town. Craig

    WWII Army Officers Dress Shoes

If the shoe fits .... They are just what I need. :) It isn't easy to find a period set that will fit me. And besides, I'm not sure I would want to wear them around even if I had a set. They look pretty accurate to me (not that I'm an expert....). Wonder when they will be out? Craig

BATTLE OF BRITAIN (1940) - Respecting THE FEW.

Us tv Hi Edward, Unfortunately your 20/40 minutes time for a 1/2 hour/1 hour long show is about right. Here in the US very few channels are without commercials. I use them for breaks to use the bathroom, do the laundry, load the dishwasher, talk to the cats, channel surf ...

BATTLE OF BRITAIN (1940) - Respecting THE FEW.

BoB Special Hi Spitfire, Thanks for posting this. I enjoyed it - just wish that American TV could produce something this good. As much as I like to watch the History and Military Channels, I just wish that they could stop spending the first minute back (after the all too frequent 5...

Another vote I voted for you also, though I was tempted to vote for Grace ... :D I decided that solidarity amongst the FLers was more important. Craig

"Doctor Who," He's Back and it's About Time!

The Doctor in the US Well, the Doctor has been there/here before. A few years back he was in Manhattan with Martha in the early 30's. The Cult of Skaro was using the Empire State Building as a lab to create a new and better Dalek race. Craig

    RIP Vernon Baker, MoH

Vernon Baker I'm glad that he finally got the recognition that he truly deserved, and was alive to receive it. Just wish it had been 50 years earlier at the time that he performed his heroic deeds. Craig

Poll: Where do Fedora Loungers live?

Home Hi all, I live just outside of Binghamton, New York. The land of Carousels, the former IBM, the former Endicott Johnson shoe factories and hometown of the late great Rod Serling. Grew up in Horseheads, New York. Anyone ever heard of it before?? :-) Craig

WW1 Vintage plane flips on runway

Oops Hi Fred, Thanks for moving it to the correct forum. I wasn't sure exactly where it should go and thought that maybe the WWII forum was the best fit. Some subjects are hard for me to categorize (at least in my brain).... lol Craig

WW1 Vintage plane flips on runway

Stains ;-) Hi Story, Thanks for correcting me, I am not very familiar with bi-plane ID. When I looked at the video I figured that the crash wasn't so serious that the plane would never fly again but was amazed at how easy the accident seemed to happen. His landing looked pretty...

WW1 Vintage plane flips on runway

Hi all, I saw the following video on CNN and thought that I'd pass it on. It appears that no one was injured in this accident in Arlington, VA at the Ronald Reagan Airport during what appears to be an air show...
