I've looked into Warby Parkers and they're really cheaply made. You get what you pay for. They look great for the price but I wouldn't expect them to last very long.
I also see you're in Philadelphia. The Art In The Age store on 3rd St just above Arch carries the whole line so you can try them...
I recently got one of these vintage "good luck" skull rings on eBay. I know they made them from the turn of the century till the 50s or 60s so I have no idea what era it's really from.
It's pretty worn down and looks OLD. Looks like it did have the jewel eyes but they're long gone. Stamped...
I recently was at the eye doctor and was informed that, as long as you aren't getting new lenses themselves, your existing lenses can be coated and turned into sunglasses for fairly cheap. I'm not sure where exactly you would go for this but it shouldn't be too expensive.
Eyemo, picking an authentic vintage font can be tricky. I think with all the effort put into your museum, you need the logo to look authentic, not a modern interpretation of what a 40s font would have looked like. A lot of the more decorative fonts, like "Betty Noir," existed, but they were not...
I'm afraid I still agree. It is easier to read than before, but the borders are still too distracting. I would make them a very dark gray. They'll still be visible against the black and will also still do their job of separating everything without distracting the eye from the most important...
I found 2 gray childrens fedoras at the thrift store about 2 weeks ago. Probably about that size. One was a Stetson. Each was $20. Last time I went one was gone and the other was still there.
I can go back and take a look to see if it's still there. If so, I'll charge you the $20 and whatever...
As I recall there weren't the white frames in between all the posts. If you could change these back to black I think it would be less straining on the eyes.
The Peacoat Dating thread is sticky in the Outerwear section.
This is the best site I have found for vintage pea coats at reasonable prices.
Also check local thrift stores. It took me a while to find one in my size but I just did and it was well worth the wait.
Hey everyone. Just directing your attention to my Schott Perfecto I just listed on eBay. I bought the jacket and it ended up being a bit large for me so it's going up on the Bay. The auction still has a week left, so I'll bump this thread up once the auction is nearing the end.
Auction...
Help!
I've been looking to replace my bulky 1960s looking Ray-Ban frames with something a little more 1940s looking.
i really like these moscot lemtosh frames in blonde, but i'm wondering if they're still too 1950s?
i also tried on the moscot miltzen frames, which i think look the part a...
