Hat size versus acceptability.
Since I've been lately paying attention, there are guys out there wearing hats. Not just Amish guys, either. Even here in Small City Indiana. They're usually older than me, but those few with nice hats are striking that "balance" that Lefty mentioned. I haven't seen any that look to be... -

Squadron patch – which AAF 'Air Force'?
Was this fairly common to have multiple units with the same number back then? It's really avoided today. I know there is the 1st SOW(ACW) and the 1st FW, but for ten years or so they made the 1st SOW change its name to 16th. Otherwise, though, it would seem to be a confusing practice.- R. L.

Railroad Pocket Watch
I have a beautiful watch, but unfortunately it has a way of stopping at random times (never while you look at it). It's an Elgin from 1918 IIRC. Also, I think it has fourteen jewels and railroads required seventeen? I know I looked it up at some point but my numbers may be off a little.- R. L.
