Was this fairly common to have multiple units with the same number back then? It's really avoided today. I know there is the 1st SOW(ACW) and the 1st FW, but for ten years or so they made the 1st SOW change its name to 16th. Otherwise, though, it would seem to be a confusing practice.
Hey Wildblue, my folks are in Kodiak. I don't remember any fine hatters when I was up that way---but you'd think some of the fine sporting goods stores would at least stock something.

I have a beautiful watch, but unfortunately it has a way of stopping at random times (never while you look at it). It's an Elgin from 1918 IIRC. Also, I think it has fourteen jewels and railroads required seventeen? I know I looked it up at some point but my numbers may be off a little.
