I'm still hunting for vintage 2 1/2 brims or larger in my size and my price range. I've got the vintage Open Road in my avatar, which I shaped into a teardrop, a Stacy Adams black 2 1/2, and a Scala brown Indy 2 1/2. I would love to a find a nice vintage Stetson around the $60 mark but it...

Kingsbury "Thirty Dollars" I got this hat from eBay for $11 shipped. There isn't a whole lotta info on the net about this brand. It was a 7 1/4 which I stretched to 7 3/8. I took it in the shower with me, gave it a good scrub with a brush and some mild shampoo. Unfortunately, the previous...

It sure is soft. Too bad this hat won't fit me. I'm gonna be putting it up for auction. I'm sure I'll get at least what I paid for it.

Take a look at what I found at a Goodwill store

What does the number of X's on a hat signify? I've always thought it represented the amount of beaver fur blended in. I've seen Stetson hats at 20x, even 200x. Can someone clear this up?

It definately feels soft like a fur felt. The fact that it's marked 5X would mean that it's a beaver blend, no?

Take a look at what I found at a Goodwill store

I decided to stop in to see if there was anything of interest. I noticed a cowboy hat at the back of the store. So I went over, picked it up, turned it over and to my surprise it's a Stetson! The lining is in mint condition. Not a spot of sweat. The sweatband is also...

It's a Dobbs Twenty circa 1950's I believe. Lining says Dobbs Fifth Avenue New York. It has a Guild Edge stamp, Hughes Hatcher Suffrin Detroit and GWG stamped on the inside of the sweatband. I don't know what GWG stands for. What more would you like to know about it?
