Sears might be going belly up

I have never shopped at toys-r-us, but babies-r-us was a lifesaver when I had babies. Son won't take a bottle but may take a sippy. We need something that works before daycare the next day or else I can't go to work because he's suddenly not taking a bottle? Babies-r-us and buy one of every one...

So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

I grew up (in the 80s) down the street from Mr. And Mrs. So-and-so and Mr. So-and-so's buddy from Vietnam. I was in college before I figured out that they were a polygamous couple. I should've considered my frequent childhood mistakes, since I thought they were two Mr. So-and-so's and one Mrs...

You know you are getting old when:

One of my close friends grew up without a TV. I swore I'd never do that to my child... She never really felt like she fit in because of it. As an adult, she watches way more television than I do... and she has a 3 hour communte total each day and I have 10 minutes. I grew up the the television...

You know you are getting old when:

We had a black and white tv until about '85. My husband parents had one until about '90, theirs broke in a cross country move.

If your home burns, what would you grab quickly to salvage??

Very true. Year's ago we had bats get into our house on two occasions, nights when we were asleep. We woke up to our cat jumping on our bed as the bat circled above it. Poor bats.

I agree with how dangerous acetaminophen can be. We have a cousin who tried to commit suicide twice with it (she survived, they pumped her stomach). Until i was pregnant/ we had kids, I didn't keep it in the house. I nowhere near a teatotaler, but I don't mix meds and alcohol.

My husband has them done every 5 years (he had polyps as a child, so he restarted them at age 30, they typically take out a polyp or two). He's really cute and sweet when I pick him up afterwards. ;) I always think I should hit him up for a new diamond or a puppy or something after.

I have no desire to die anytime soon. After being diagnosed with cancer at 31 (I'm now 36), my perspective has changed a bit. I always wanted to live until 93. My grandfather lived till 96 with a good quality of life. My great-grandparents on my mother's side all topped out in their late 80s or...

    L.L.Bean scraps lifetime return policy

So class is much more than money- in fact- it has little to do with money. For instance, I work in a small liberal arts college. As a college professor I immediately get huge class bonus points. I don't make that much money, in fact, in a skilled trade, I'd easily make double. However, I'm...

Well, I think a couple of things. Athletic gear isn't all equally inexpensive, so there's "it" brands and that sort of thing. Also, exercising can be expensive and indicates you have leisure time, two signifiers of class. Now I don't think this is necessarily separating upper from middle (the...

    L.L.Bean scraps lifetime return policy

I have to admit, one of things I hate about modern society is our focus on children as a little fragile beings. I grew up out in the middle of nowhere. I walked the quarter of a mile to my friends house (my mother would walk me to the end of the driveway and make sure I made it across the road...

    L.L.Bean scraps lifetime return policy

I don't think an article has ever rung more true about parenting. Modern expectations are exhausting. I dread sending my kids to school to get swept up into the extracurricular activities and such. That and the homework, which I've heard takes hours. I was lucky as a kid if I was given time to...

    L.L.Bean scraps lifetime return policy

It's all part of the hype of nowadays. It's why people who never do yoga wear yoga pants and you see people wearing athletic clothing all the time. How you show you have money and class today is by showing off that you have the resources to exercise and spend money on exercising clothes and gym...

So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

I'll agree that was probably the original thought. And that's not a bad one... I think what bothers me is: 1. I often see many of individuals I know from my cancer circle described as a "drain on the system." I don't want to get into a political debate, but I've seen far too many people get...

I strongly dislike some of the messages in Thomas. My son sometimes catches it on TV and LOVES it because trains are cool. And I wince every time they equate value to work and usefulness. I normally try to distract him to turn it off.

Technical features, you can really do without?

I have two young kids. I have plenty of practice with a "firm" tone of voice. ;)

Technical features, you can really do without?

It's also 3rd party apps. Ever look at what an app is allowed to access? Hmm, why does an app I use to order food need to have access to my microphone and camera, when it has no features that allows me to use my camera or microphone? (There's apps that do have such features.) Ah, because they...

Any technology that has voice commands and therefore is always "listening." Too easy to hack. I'm looking at you, Alexa.

    Bustier advice please ladies.

I only own their shapewear and some of their lingerie, but I have always been pleased with What Katie Did.
