how many A-2s does it take to make an A-2 (not a joke)

repLicants or mutants? which A-2? i thank all the people here and their posts...to be honest, it was info i got coming here that pulled me away from the more mutant A-2s, towards, if not an Eastman or GoodWear replicant, at least a respectable A-2 in the spirit and accurate (if not replicated...

how many A-2s does it take to make an A-2 (not a joke)

Just got done reading posts for member tripreed’s decision whether to get a G-1 or A-2 for a first military leather jacket...as most replies pointed out, it’s not whether, just which first... My first was easy (jacket that is)...with a long runner’s neck I always liked that fur collar filling...

A2's, do you miss handwarmer pockets?

handwarmer pockets in LaLaLand? here in L.A. one would think hwpocks would be as gratuitous as earmuffs on your surfboard...howevah... whilst my a-2 will be worn most of the time in weather over 65 degrees i like to stuff my hands in the side...even if the army air corps had the a-2 designed...

is it safe to wear a WWII vintage leather flight jacket?

tiCtoCK my experience is in the world of vintage watches...i buy and sell, and keep for myself, vintage ww2 ordnance issued brit, u.s. and german military watches... i am like a little girl (no sexism meant) when it comes to marking something up...totally paranoid...especially about...

Review: Good Wear Bronco A-2, Steerhide

moo thanks for the hopeful info on the cowhide jackets...i got the uswings distressed leather one, and indeed it is hard to tell it's not goat...but if anyone else knows about the usage of cowhide in ww2 a-2s it would be appreciated, even if i hadn't gotten one, the thread is about the bronco...

Review: Good Wear Bronco A-2, Steerhide

fit to be fiT the jacket looks nice in the pix, however, i've always liked things a bit loose... loose (jackets) is a look that has it's own appeal, and as nice as a-2s look when form-fitted, nothing is all that comfortable as when it gives you a bit of room... personally, i think getting a...

    it's aLiVE! the FrankenFlightjacket

encouragement encouraging thanks for the encouragement that such a modification as adding snaps is not tooooo extreme...i just didn't want to start hacking up a pretty authentically styled jacket, which this "g-2" is really...of course, using the g-2 moniker is risky with some as my other post...

in which WW2 u.s. flight jacket did j.nicholson fLy oVer the CuCKoo's NeST?

how many g-2s can fit on the head of a piN? discussion is starting to sound like an issue of 'firing line' from the sixties--william f. buckley junior in a theological discussion with Madalyn Murray O'Hair... but to carry on like a Douglas B-42 Mixmaster through flak, though like the "g-2"...

in which WW2 u.s. flight jacket did j.nicholson fLy oVer the CuCKoo's NeST?

choose your numbers, gentlemen... suppose one can choose whatever numbers one wants, but the anj-3 is the one now (apparently spuriously) called g-2 on websites, here this 'g-2' is with it's anj-3 number, but is the same jacket i referred to as the g-2...

in which WW2 u.s. flight jacket did j.nicholson fLy oVer the CuCKoo's NeST?

beLted thanks for the post...the g-2 was indeed designed in ww2 to take the place of the a-2, and i'll be posting some of jack's jack next week once i can upload them to my website...here's a pic of the g-2 (not that big a pic, but some background), it's a cooper, i've seen it on many websites...

in which WW2 u.s. flight jacket did j.nicholson fLy oVer the CuCKoo's NeST?

geeeee, two answers for paddy and the belly man: paddy: my original post mentioned that i just happened to see jack in that jack the same day (yesterday) that mY g-2 arrived, so, aside from the unsnapped collars, i love the style...tho, as i mentioned in another post, i did have barini...

in which WW2 u.s. flight jacket did j.nicholson fLy oVer the CuCKoo's NeST?

oooooooooooooPs? still watching the movie...jack just strangled rachet...have to say it does seem indeed to be a u.s. ww2 flight jacket...and since it's a debate now, i'll reveal that jacket to be the g-2...i'd post the pix from the movie but am not on my computer and this system doesn't allow...

in which WW2 u.s. flight jacket did j.nicholson fLy oVer the CuCKoo's NeST?

picked up my ww2 flight jacket today, too hot to wear, but still excited... i'd never seen 'one flew over the cuckoo's nest' before, had just finished 'heartbreak ridge' and was leaving for a run as 'nest' was starting...and there comes jack in mY jacket! no doubt, it was it, front views and...

    it's aLiVE! the FrankenFlightjacket

roger that on the a-2/g-2 see if i can get some pix after the holiday, but it's just a g-2 with an a-2 collar...had it done at barini leather in studio city, pretty expert...the only thing different is that the collar points go down as far as what i consider the snappier looking a-2s, meaning...

    it's aLiVE! the FrankenFlightjacket

i'm hoping i didn't create a FrankenFlightjacket, and respect the opinions here enough to garner some of them... what i did was to take a uswings.com g-2, which is pretty nice (not a replica in the hard core sense, but really a sharp jacket) except for what i considered was the floppy...
