Just got done reading posts for member tripreed’s decision whether to get a G-1 or A-2 for a first military leather jacket...as most replies pointed out, it’s not whether, just which first... My first was easy (jacket that is)...with a long runner’s neck I always liked that fur collar filling...- johnnyjohnny

handwarmer pockets in LaLaLand? here in L.A. one would think hwpocks would be as gratuitous as earmuffs on your surfboard...howevah... whilst my a-2 will be worn most of the time in weather over 65 degrees i like to stuff my hands in the side...even if the army air corps had the a-2 designed...- johnnyjohnny

moo thanks for the hopeful info on the cowhide jackets...i got the uswings distressed leather one, and indeed it is hard to tell it's not goat...but if anyone else knows about the usage of cowhide in ww2 a-2s it would be appreciated, even if i hadn't gotten one, the thread is about the bronco...- johnnyjohnny

choose your numbers, gentlemen... suppose one can choose whatever numbers one wants, but the anj-3 is the one now (apparently spuriously) called g-2 on websites, here this 'g-2' is with it's anj-3 number, but is the same jacket i referred to as the g-2...- johnnyjohnny

beLted thanks for the post...the g-2 was indeed designed in ww2 to take the place of the a-2, and i'll be posting some of jack's jack next week once i can upload them to my website...here's a pic of the g-2 (not that big a pic, but some background), it's a cooper, i've seen it on many websites...- johnnyjohnny

roger that on the a-2/g-2 see if i can get some pix after the holiday, but it's just a g-2 with an a-2 collar...had it done at barini leather in studio city, pretty expert...the only thing different is that the collar points go down as far as what i consider the snappier looking a-2s, meaning...- johnnyjohnny

i'm hoping i didn't create a FrankenFlightjacket, and respect the opinions here enough to garner some of them... what i did was to take a uswings.com g-2, which is pretty nice (not a replica in the hard core sense, but really a sharp jacket) except for what i considered was the floppy...- johnnyjohnny
