    Contacting Jimmy Pierce...

My best advice is to leave a PM or a message and be very, very patient. Jimmy has always gotten back to me but it can take awhile. [huh]

Photographs Of Hats Fresh From Surviving The Elements

BK, That is a stunning hat! Are there more pictures of said hat posted on the lounge? I'm also fascinated by the rest of your outfit. The topcoat and tie look very nice. Have you posted in the What are You Wearing Today thread? I know this is a bit :offtopic: but I'd like to see a full-body shot...

    The 'Douglas' contest

I agree, on both counts. I love the composition of that picture with the buildings, greenery, and fallen leaves in the background. Nevertheless, we must continue to strive for the victory is in the attempt and, if we fail, we fail valiantly. Someone famous must have said that or something...

The Fellowship of the Flagship Douglas, Thanks for posting pictures of your "Minty" Beauty. I especially like the profile shot where we see the top and bottom stitching on the ribbon and the square-cut ends of the bow. The Flagship has nice details and wonderful proportions.

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Try this on your own hat. It works. Gentlemen, I have posted this before but here it is again. As noted by Baron Kurtz on more than one occasion, the opening of a hat is an ellipse, not a perfect circle. In order to determine the circumference of an ellispse you need two things: the length of...

HAT ADORNMENTS: ribbons, bows, pins, pugs, leather, etc.

It depends on the width of the ribbon. This works for me. If the bow of the ribbon is wide enough, insert the nut of the screwback beneath the wrap in the center of the bow. Then push the screw on the back of the pin through the wrap so it engages the nut. Then turn the pin to tighten.

    The 'Douglas' contest

That certainly is a wonderful transformation. I like the color and the coordinating ribbon. Is the ribbon post-refurbishment a new, wider ribbon? A striking hat.
