Thanks for the feedback JT and Viper Man. Some hats just don't want to be fedoras. [huh]

Another swell job, Art.

Viper Man, I thought of you and your Cavanagh when I saw this hat. It's a great look.
Now I think someone needs to have Art make a version of Johnny Depp's hat from Public Enemies.
I'd like to see Alucard's Rorschach and that one side-by-side.

Peter Robinson's Inspector Banks Mysteries are my favorite contemporary police/procedural/mystery novels.
I collect signed 1st editions by these two and a few other favorites.
As noted elsewhere,
A light application of Scout Felt Hat Rain & Stain Protector makes a big difference in protecting the powder finish on your hat. It is available on-line as well at most western hat stores.
That's a wonderful Stetson, Michaelshane. The coordination of the felt and ribbon colors is sweet and the high crown looks great. You're putting a nice collection together.
My new glen grey Campdraft was delivered yesterday.
The box looked fine.
The hat looked fine.
The fit was just a bit large.
But, being an intrepid hatman, I inserted the sizing strip.
Now for the dry crease. I tried a C-crown with side dents but the hat wasn't too happy. So I went...
This is an interesting picture of the Flatiron Building in NYC at 23rd & Broadway when it was the location of a recruiting station. There is a gun turret mounted on the building with the words "Your Country Needs You" painted on the sides of the turret.
It was taken by G.G. Bain in April 1917...

The cap Marc posted may look simple but could be tricky to execute. The single piece of material must be of a size to allow the forming of the crown and then have darts (is this the correct term)...
I made a low (I thought) bid on a poorly-listed Champ Featherweight and won for $21.71.
The seller states that it is a Stetson in the original box and is made of wool. I'm hoping this is just a really poor listing. If it isn't, I just won a wool Stetson in a Champ Featherweight box. It'll be...

I wore a grey Stetson Sovereign with mode edge today. This one was reblocked by Jimmy Pierce from a size 8 to 7 5/8. High crown and long side dents.
Douglas, I like that Weekender. Did you change the side dents between pictures 1 & 2 and picture 3?
The Borsalino flodable is one sweet lid.
Bolthead, Nice Borso.
IC, Looking very much in the Detective Mode. How's it look with the jacket buttoned?
