My teenage daughter, who usually only wears Kelly Caleche (given to her by Dad), just got Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino which smells really great on her and is totally suitable for a young lady.
I love the line in the deeply funny 1984 film American Dreamer where a drunk Jo Beth Williams says:
"Wasn't it Nietzsche who said 'Was mich nicht umbringt macht mich stärke? Deep, huh?"
Deep, indeed. Great film with J-B W., Tom Conti and Giancarlo Giannini--heaps of style. Bset in...
Did anyone catch this a few weeks back? There was a great sketch with Jean Dujardin but the best bit, IMO, was a film noir send up where Zooey (looking the part!) finds herself in a fast-talking wise-cracking film noir--it is really fun! I couldn't find it on Youtube or I would have posted it!
I just scored a pair of Peals for BB black patent evening pumps at my local Out of the Closet thrift store. Worn once. $7.75. One size bigger than the pair I bought twenty years ago so just about right! How could I resist?

I love the old names of the virtues--Faith, Hope (Lange!), Charity, etc. Not so sure about Temperance (although I love Prudence!). My own forebear was named Comfort--not such a bad name, really....
Flashbacks to the fraternity basement--ankle-deep in beer. Pink Floyd. The Dead. White parties. Everclear. Wow. If only that was the worst of it all......
Have been listening to a lot of Gene Krupa lately. Especially love his Drum Boogie. Here are two versions--the film version with the wonderful Barbara Stanwyk lipping to the Lilten' Martha Tilton--here:

And the sublime Anita O'Day swingin' it...
Been there--in my case the only fancy shave I ever got--Trumper's in Curzon St. Sweeney Todd of Mayfair. Good thing the girl I was going on to meet had a sense of humor. Impressed, really, that a Yank could find the best barber in town and still come away bloody.... The shirt was a goner.
