That’s the trouble with sand, silver belly, etc. you can’t handle them with grubby paws, unless it is a working hat. Since I haven’t worked in more than 30 years, I have to keep my hat reasonably clean. Sometimes I wish for a bit more “character” but for the most part I’m happy with a clean hat. -

Don’t feel bad, I only own five (5) “real” hats, which puts me far, far away from even the average here. I will also wear the same hat for weeks at a time, rather than several in a day. But I continue to hover on the periphery of this hat world. -

I would guess that many have done it out of a desire to look like John Wayne. -
Show us their hats!
Identity and politics aside, I think anyone who puts a hat like that on his head in that manner, either is (or at least looks like) a half-wit. -
