A classic of the genre in brilliant condition. I need a 46 unfortunately.

Hi Folks,
I like this jacket so much I'm selling it to fund another in brown HH.

I've been reading some bowler hat posts here for research. I love the things. I don't have time to search ebay, etc, and how can one get the sizing right for sich a stiff hat? And I don't want to pay more than $250-300 US. I'd like a fur felt bowler to fit a (generally) 58 sized head (my Akubras...
All this recent talk about the thickness of HH has got me thinking. Now we know that Aero FQHH is actually 3oz, not 3.5oz, how would a HH jacket by Aero compare to a 1940's-1950's HH jacket?
I'd be interested in the comparison between a couple of half belts - one from then, one from now...
Thanks to Handymike. I got his 10 year old 1930's half-belt, cotton drill lining.
A few observations.
Sizing - 42 and I'd say that is true to size, if a bit snug.
Build quality - solid, the stitching, cut and detail is about equal to my Johnson Leathers jackets.
Hide - FQHH - nice...
I already had two fantastically well-made Johnson Leathers jackets so I recently asked them (Alan) to make me a 1950's Californian Sportswear style half-belt. I didn't want FQHH or anything too heavy so I went with a 3 oz finished cowhide.
Great service: had an online discussion with Alan about...
I have a leather jacket with a zip problem. At the end of the zip where the lug is and where the two parts of the zip slide in together - the half-inch nylon sheath (name?) has come off both sides leaving just the material. No rips or faults in any other way. Is that a problem? Does that nylon...
Hi,
I'm selling this nice Brimaco style racer made by Insurrection Leather in Seattle. See add below.

I have two moleskin blazers that are high quality. Problem is, the fabric looks shabby on the elbows and other higher wear areas. At those points and around the edges of seams the fabric looks flat, worn and slightly lighter this is after just a few weeks of wear. Both blazers are new. Is there...
Any ideas if those early jackets were 2.5oz or 3, or even 3.5oz? I have a feeling that many of our vintage repos use a much heavier horse than the originals. I understand that A2's were 3oz, wouldn't the civilian utility jackets be about that too? I'm thinking about those Sears jobs, Hercules...
This is my third cafe racer - my first Schott. It's medium weight leather - so for me ideal and more wearable than some hunk of 3.5 or 4 oz cowhide. Feels like a 1960's Brooks. Very impressed. Nice solid job of American manufacturing. Robust plaid lining, good thick pocket lining; poly cotton...
They made thousands of Brimaco cafe racers over decades. The only ones I've seen were made of a pretty soft and unconvincing cowhide. Were the Brimaco's famous for their poor hide as I have read elsewhere and, if so, why? What was the thickness of these old jackets? The one I recently saw felt...
I see Reed is still in business. What are they like these days? Are they in the Wilson's mode or better than that? Anyone know or have a recent Reed jacket?
I just auction sited myself a nice mandarin collar, Brooks cafe racer, mid brown, two pockets, zip out lining (not included). The two pockets are at the bottom- slash pockets, no chest pockets. It's cow -hide. Sorry no photos.
I think it's about 40 years old.
My question is; did Brooks...

I may have asked this before somewhere.
Anyone know where to get an unworn F1 field jacket? They make a great summer jacket as they are a high quality, unlined cotton.
I've done a google search, nothing useful has turned up.
Cheers - Seb
I want one of these horse cafe racers but size is a big question. Schott tell me I may need an XL and Wade at Insurrection in Seattle (he
stocks CAF1 too) tells me I need an M and would "drown" in a L. Who's correct? Both know their products.
I want it to fit so I can wear a sweater...
Hi,
I'm having a cafe racer jacket made but I can't decide between the two leathers. Any views as to what would be tougher/better? I don't ride, so overall thickness isn't a safety issue, just a question of quality.
Was 2.5 oz horse used in any of the classic 1940's-50's half-belts? Is it...
