    Straw Cowboy Hat questions

    Palm leafs are too heavy for me & don't allow much airflow. I buy a new Bangora yearly & wear it out. It is not a dress hat to start with. I go with Atwood. He's a friend of Major Mike too. http://atwoodhats.com/

    The Stratoliner Appreciation Club {MODERN}

    The Premiere Strat is a good stand-in for a vintage one. I have mink & silverbelly & would've gotten a cornhill but already had a couple of clones close to that color. I sold a dark brown vintage Strat since I got this Excellent Strat. I have a vintage grey that isn't getting any noggin time in...

    Which looks better -- a Stetson Open Road or an Akubra Campdraft with a Cattlemen's Bash?

    I took a Road Master, which is same dimensions as an Modern OR except in natural beaver color as opposed to silverbelly, & put it in open crown then to a tear drop. There just wasn't enough crown like a CD. I think the thread is still around...

    1930's Borsalino or 1950's Stratoliner?

    What early Borsalino could do with bunny fur felt is amazing. Remember the Strat was a low end Stetson. I do have a Royal DeLuxe Strat that starts to stack up with a Borso...

    Which looks better -- a Stetson Open Road or an Akubra Campdraft with a Cattlemen's Bash?

    I've got more OR's in alpine crease than CD's, so there's my answer....

    Which looks better -- a Stetson Open Road or an Akubra Campdraft with a Cattlemen's Bash?

    You asking about vintage OR or modern (since the late 70's)? A Campdraft IS a vintage OR. Modern OR (except for recent Royal Deluxe OR) is too low crown for anything but a cattleman/alpine crease IMHO. I love the crown of a CD since you have enough to work with to do other creases like C, Tear...

    Akubra Campdraft

    My Mid-Brown CD had an olive tint to it especially when out in direct sunlight. I got it back in 2009 time frame when offered by EA.
