Actually no. It's a bit like how pants are marked as the same size but differences in cut make them fit like smaller or larger sizes. I've found on the whole that some 7 3/8 fit like they should, whereas others are too tight.
what do you search to find it? Even on ebay UK, searching "1940s sport coat mens" comes up with items that are most definitely NOT 1940s. I even try a generic "vintage tweed", and still, nothing older than the 60s. Teach me your ebay magic o, Wise One. :p (apparently, also, people know what...
I've got a united garment workers tag on a pair of denim jeans...not sure of the age. It's definitely 1930s-1990s, has red numbers (02519). Picture won't upload yet
If you want the 1930s-1940s style, go with the stratoliner. or the stetson stetsonian. It's $245, either one, and a beautiful hat. Or try searching ebay for 7 3/8 hats. Personally, since I'm also a 7 3/8, hats that are exactly one size larger (7 1/2) fit me better than 7 3/8
how do you guys rate non-gruen "curvex" watches? I'm probably winning a bid on a curvex-style watch from a company I've never heard of before, called "Norman". anybody ever heard of it? any good?
1970s or 1980s camel hair belt back. Action back and pleated patch pockets. One of the nicer ones I've seen that can pass at a distance for a 30s sport coat.
Paid $7 for what I hope are 1950s shoes. Walk over saddle shoes from the 50s are mostly nubuck; these are smooth leather. But the construction and laces are similar to 1950s. Anybody know if they're 50s or not?
Walk-over vintage saddle shoes. I hope they're 1950s, but knowing my luck, they could be far more recent. (Been hoping for shoes older than the 80s for a while now). They're not nubuck like a lot of confirmed 50s walk-overs, which puts me in doubt. Anybody know the date?
