A couple of months ago I took a gamble on a Forstadt Platinum Beaver hat, the hat was small on me [7 5/8] but if it was in good shape my intention was to send it to out to Tony B. for a re-blocking to my size, a 7 3/4 and to get ribbon work done to it.
Well, here is the fantastic...
Someone got this for me while visiting Nevada about 12 years ago. I don't wear Bolo Ties, so I put it in a drawer and forgot about it.
Is there anyone out there that wears Bolos that might be interested?
I'll take 38.00 dollars, shipping included; which I figure might be about 3 bucks or...
I wanted to try up-loading photos to the lounge, so here is that attempt...
Someone asked for me to post pics of the Adams 7 3/4 which I got a few months ago.
I did remove the beat up feather and a friend had helped me steam and brush the lid.
These are the pictures as I clipped them...

The Cavanagh I recently won was listed as a 50's era, but it has a Brown sweat band so I am wondering about its age.
I also noticed the ribbon/bow on this hat to be slightly different than my other Cavanagh which is 50's.
Does that help anyone out there to speculate on the era of this hat...
A vintage Cavanagh I recently purchased has some ink pen marking on the liner; faint but none the less it is there.
It's the old gent's name and address whom owned the hat back in the day.
Amazing though, this hat was once 45 miles from my home town in some other era; it somehow ended up...
I bought 2 hats from Miller Hats recently; the return policy only allows store credit on returns.
I sent one back because I was not crazy about the style; so my back up plan was the Black Queens Fedora. [ Black body w/Black Grosgrain & Bow ]
It has a bound 2 5/8 brim, teardrop crown, it is...

Saturday started off to be a good day. :D The doorbell rang this morning; and I awoke to receive my first vintage Fedora. The 50's circa Cavanagh arrived today safe and sound. The hat is extremely nice and was well kept over the Decades.
I guess it would not hurt to get it dry cleaned before...
I'm guessing the best place to keep a hat, when not on your head, is in it's box. At some point I'll make a nice rack to hold them, but until then, I want to keep them safe. I'd be bummed if a hat ever got damaged.:(
My environment in fine; but would you take a precaution and put a few Cedar...
Good Evening,
I am new to the list and a friend of a lounge member who got me into vintage Fedora Hats. I look forward to being on the list.
I always liked a Fedora but never had one; so a couple weeks ago I bought new; a Dobbs Dayton and a Miller Amherst. The other day when I was...
