    Brooks leathers

I tried on one of their newer cafe racer jackets at a vintage store in Sacramento last week. The leather was sturdy but pliable. It seemed like a well made jacket overall. The only problem was that the cut/fit seemed a little bit sloppy. The arms seemed long and the shoulders narrow for the tag...

    Brooks Brothers Camel Hair Blazer

I bought this one to wear myself, but the size is not quite right for me. I typically wear a 42, and this is a 40. It is camel hair by Brooks Brothers. I found it at a local consignment shop. If this is your long lost treasure blazer message me. Otherwise, I plan to sell or donate. $20 +...

    Drospo Taurus Leather Motorcycle Jacket

Hi All! My growing jackets collection is putting closet space at a premium. I need to find new homes for some of my older jackets. I thought I would post this here before giving it a try on EBay. I wanted to offer it here in case it is someone’s long lost treasure jacket. The leather is heavy...

    U.S. Border Patrol leather jacket

Another interesting tidbit I came across while getting to know my new jacket. The main tag is for VF, which I think is a big apparel company that probably uses a lot of sources for their garments. I noticed a tag on the inside recommending a leather cleaner in Tullahoma, TN. The name sounded...

    U.S. Border Patrol leather jacket

Just picked one of these up at a vintage store here in San Diego. It is the goatskin variant by VF Solutions. Same pocket configuration as the cowhide version. The goatskin cleaned up really well. There are a few holes from pins and patch stitching. I wish the patches were still on the jacket...

    Vintage Barbour jackets

Barbour is another one of my favorites (aside from vintage leather jackets). I’m glad to see this thread is still going after starting up in 2012. I got my first Barbour secondhand during my sabbatical in France. It had a bit of a “garage” smell, but was otherwise a great jacket. It is a roomy...

Comment by 'Chevalier' in article 'Deco, Nouveau, & Crafts: Know Your Arts'

Thanks for a really informative post! I think you could make an argument that both the Art Nouveau and Arts&Crafts movements grew out of the earlier Aesthetic Movement. For those who love Art Nouveau, I highly recommend the collection at the Musee d’Orsay in Paris and a visit to Nancy, France.

    If you're a smaller size, here's a cool Tauber's CR cheap...

Ah ok, it explains why so many people watched it but no one bid. In retrospect, I wish I could have sold it through this forum. I wanted it to go to someone who would really appreciate that it is a piece of history!

Tale of two Taubers Cafe Racers

Thanks for all the info about Taubers. I just found a jacket locally and had to sell it on EBay because it would not fit. I wish it did fit me; it was a beautiful jacket. I hope the buyer appreciates it. I’m getting really interested in the leather industry here in the SF Bay. Any advice on...

    If you're a smaller size, here's a cool Tauber's CR cheap...

I just sold a Taubers I found here locally. It was a smaller size, too. It had the old style label. It has made me a little obsessed with learning about the leather industry here in the SF Bay “back in the day”. Any idea why so many watchers but only one bid? I also wish I had done more research...
