What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Thank you, Steve! No JHS mention on the paper label too (just went really quick through your site). Btw, I never get tired of seeing these beauties! Those two Loden Mode huts are top of my list of favourite hats showed here

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Alois Pichler, Wien, in wool mix, '30s, for a chimeric new/old outfit courtesy again of @mayserwegener and strolling in one of the first fashionable neighborhoods in the city in 1850 I must have been too late to the party again, I didn't see no fashionable/stylish people this time around

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

What a substantial velour, Steve! Love the shape and form too. The liner is the cherry (or should I say strawberry perhaps) on top

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

Very much enjoyed this fantastic parade of German craftsmanship, Matt! Great additions The tradition with VHG continues, out of 3 hats intented for me, all ended up being 2-3 sizes too large...how awkward is that?

    The International Wool Felt Consortium

Thanks Stefan! I figured with 8 or so employees currenlty, they must have stopped making hats long time ago, perhaps right after the Monza factory closed

    The International Wool Felt Consortium

Phenomenal woollies, Matt! Thanks for sharing! I am glad you went for the melone too ;) I should also second Steve's compliments regarding your wife's good taste and I'll add that I am glad she is not addicted, that would put my box in danger :)

    THE SATIN FINISH/LONG HAIR CLUB

Amazing, Matt! I am at a stage where I am hardly excited about another black velour, but the details of this one make it quite unique. Love it

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Couldn't end this year any better, Stefan! Hard to pick one, just for the sake of it I'll go with the Barbisio Lontra- love the finish (I bet though, that British made Stetson will get the most votes)

    Movie hats

It's been a while since I last saw the British version, can't really recall how it compares to the Hollywood's remake. The mise-en-scene on this latter one is mind blowing. Thanks for the tip, Terry! I'll definatelly check them side-by-side

    Movie hats

An old favorite, "Gaslight" 1944, Gothic Noir, very atmospheric Not too many hats here, but some interesting stiff felts (a light color Cambridge bowler amongst them) and toppers, as appropriate for the era Even if it's not your style after all, there's always Ingrid ;)

The Non Shorpy Web All Stars.

Protester injured in a strike in Athens, Greece (exact date unknown) Backbow with a crease clip, usually found on wool hats from that era

    Italian makers trademarks

Thanks again, Stefan! All great but the green hat Ads ;) I see now why Daniele was so skeptical about the German "Bantam" I've sent him despite the German labels
