I’ve got this G1 coming to me on Monday and have a saddlery A2. I like the looks of my A2 but don’t care much for the way the arms are positioned. I know the Bean ones are better in this regard. The guy is asking $75 for the one he has. Which from what I can tell isn’t a bad price.
It sounds like size 44 or 46 is what I need. I found a 42 at a resale shop last weekend and it was a little to small. Especially in the length. I really like these older jackets, they look and feel great.
I might take a gamble and purchase it. For what he’s asking for it I should be able to...
I also have one of the Turkey made ones with the wool pile liner. It a large and also measures 24”. I’ve got a Cooper A2 that is sized 48R but measures 23” pit to pit. They both fit, the bean seems a little large at the top though. Not that noticeable until I sit down in the car though.
I am looking at an older one that is missing its size tag. The owner sent me an armpit to armpit measurement of 22”. Since that is an measurement made on the outside can the jacket be considered a size 44. Most of my jackets I measured come up 23”-24” and are labeled large. I measured my chest...
Thanks Blackadder for replying. I found this and one other short forum thread about this brand. They were both older. Was hoping there might be more info by now. This particular jacket isn’t going to break the bank if I buy it. But I would like to make sure it’s a quality product before hand. To...
I’ve always like the G1 flight jacket. Found a Split S brand for sale on my price range. Can anyone enlighten me as to the quality of their jackets? One thing that worries me is it’s listed as a large, I thought better quality jackets would be sized numerically. I looked on line and there isn’t...
Someone has this listed as a LLBean A2 for sale. There isn’t a visible label to confirm this. Plus he has it listed as a large made in USA, not sure how he knows this without a tag. I thought the jackets with the one piece back were sized by actual chest size not s,m,l. Trying to decide if it’s...
Can anyone tell me what model Belstaff this is? It is a made in UK jacket. I hope to look at it tomorrow. Couldn’t find one on the net that looks like it.
Yes it’s an odd duck. I wondered if it wasn’t a Saddlery contract jacket that didn’t pass final inspection. Instead of trashing it they stuck the Cooper and CSN tags in it to sell and make some money off their mistake.
In hindsight I wish I’d have bought more of them at that price. I’d just...
The stitching for the command or name tag do not go through to the liner. My zipper has a gold tint on the front but when you flip it over it has a shiny chrome look to it.
The zipper pull has a gold tint to it but I believe it’s probably chrome. The knits are brown. I like you figure it was a screw up at the factory. You can tell where the made in USA tag was cut off by the Saddlery tag. Over the years I’ve lost the made in USA tag that was under the Cooper tag...
In about 1991 or 92 I picked up this A2. Bought it in of all places a Dollar General store. They had about 3 or 4 of the Coopers & another style of flight jacket on the rack. Can’t remember what brand the other was but none were in my size anyway. I’d wanted a leather flight jacket for sometime...
