In watching the Masters of the Air mini series as well as reviewing WWII photos featuring A2's I'm hard pressed to find images of anything but somewhat loose fitting A2's. Pilots wore their uniform, and flight suit under the jackets and needed some extra room to move in them. I ordered the...
I recently picked up a US Authentic in goat skin. The jacket fit but was roomy to say the least. I gave it a hot shower til it was saturated then bagged it and put it in the dryer on low heat for 10 minutes at a time. I'd remove it put it on and zip it up wear it around til it cooled back...
Sounds like you need to asses this girls position on the universal hot/crazy matrix to see if you want to stay there on move on. Sounds like she falls somewhere in the fun or date zone but I don't have all the details to give an accurate estimate. Now if you aren't familiar with the universal...
I had them take 2" off the sleeves. I felt like that would give me a much better fit but would leave enough that if I needed to I could have more taken later. While they still could be considered long the cuffs don't disappear when standing and they don't pull up onto my forearms when seated.
....and the local tailor knew nothing about altering leather jackets so I sent it off to Shaul Dover at US Authentic. It was there and back in seven days with the alterations properly taken care of. I could still take a bit off the sleeves but this length seems to work well both standing and...
How would you rate the thickness of the goatskin as compared to an issued G-1? My G-1 is pretty thin when compared to my horsehide jacket but the G-1 still looks brand new 25 years later.
Thanks for the replies fellows, it was actually drier than I thought it to be. It sucked the Pecards up like a sponge so I may coat it again this weekend to make sure it got all it needed. When it starts again I'll start with the seams and go from there.
I grabbed it the other day and my...
My 92 Cooper G-1 has creaked since day one and I don't mean just a little. I thought I had given it a coat of Pecard leather dressing when I got it but I may have been using Lexol at the time. Anyway it sounded like a couple of sumo wrestlers going at it for the sumo wresteling championship...
I sent an email off inquiring about the new Bronco pattern jackets this morning and was advised they were working on photographing the new version of the jackets and should have the website updated in the next 2-3 weeks. I also asked about sizing on the new version and they sent along this...
I had a 1970 Brill Brothers in a 42 that was to tight of a fit so I flipped it and picked up a 1992 Cooper contract jacket that fits great, well except for the sleeves being a bit to long. At 25 I guess it's considered vintage at this point. So in my vast experience of two jackets I'll go with...
