I wanted a fedora style but ended up with a cross between a plantation style crown, but a bent brim.:)
It looks good to me. I like the plantation block, but I'm not as excited about the wide brims they always seem to have.
By the way, what is OFAS?
This is the Loja Style Panama Hat.
My Prized acquisition from Panama Bob :D Teardrop Panama blocked by Gary White The Custom Hatter out of Buffalo, New York.
I like it, and the ribbon is unique...makes a great looking hat look better.
Has anyone here had a chance to smoke an Ashton ESG yet? I think it's a new cigar, or at least it was in my Holt's catalog for the first time this month. ESG stands for Estate Sun Grown. They are rather pricey, IMO, but I have smoked a good many Ashton VSG's and they are about my favorite cigar...
Thanks, IC. I couldn't agree more.
I love it, thunderw. The hats looks great. The ribbon and bow look great. Art was very kind to take this hat. I have not (yet) bought a hat from him, but this hat came from Panama Bob so Art agreed to reblock it for me.
Reblocked Panama
I sent this hat to Art Fawcett for a reblock:
and he returned it to me looking like this:
It's not really a new hat, but it sure looks like a different one to me.
The ribbon is a really dark burgandy color though you really can't tell it too well...
Sounds a little husky, GWD.
Possibly a two tone navy with gold accents or a rusty color to pick up the color of the hat....might be hard to find, but it would look good. Again, IMO and for what it's worth.
IMO and for what it's worth, I like the navy. It suits the rust color of the hat very well, I think.
I'm also up for the ladies' opinions. They have the real fashion edge.
Very nice, Scott! The colors look great together.
I sent Art a Panama Bob hat to reblock for me and got an e-mail from the USPS today saying it was being shipped back to me today. I am anxious to see what Art has done to it. Also, I hope to be calling him in a month or six weeks to talk to...
I have a moonstone gray Akubra Stylemaster with a black ribbon. I posted it in the new hats thread, but here it is:
I like the hat and the color really well, and I am trying really hard to resist ordering a gray Fed IV for now. But I will most likely have one before the fat lady sings.
PB, what about the iron, dresser and hairspray trick? it worked like a charm! I ironed, shaped and sprayed mine a second time because the first one didn't hold as well as I wanted it to. The only problem was my wife was upset with the hairspray on the iron after the second time I ironed the hat...
I have a Fed Deluxe IV. I know that the brim is a bit narrower than the previous Fed and the crown is a little shorter. This link will give you more information on the new Fed:

Mine is the heritage fawn, and I have also been keeping a close eye on the moonstone gray.
I saw the movie this afternoon with my wife and thought it was pretty good. Some of it moved pretty slow and I kind of lost interest, but the second half moved along quickly and had some funny and entertaining stuff.
I wore my Fed Deluxe IV and it was the only hat in the theater, though the...
If you can wait for Robert to get your hat, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed, especially with a hat of the $299 variety. I bought a Montecristi from him and waited a while and then returned it because I ordered it too big and waited a while again. I also bought a less expensive...
What do any of you think the chances are of the Cuban embargo being lifted now that Castro is nearly out of the picture? And do you think if it were lifted that the Cubans would have a any chance of being able to support the US market for their cigars if they could import them here?
