:eusa_clap Well said! I would also add that a new old stock vintage dress is certainly worth paying more for than the same thing that has been worn. Well worth it to me!
I won't typically pay more than $20 for anything on ebay, but there are plenty of others who don't feel this way, for various reasons, whether it's more resources or simply a love for collecting! I have been known to pay up to, say, $40 for 1940's dresses though.[huh]
Actually, I was watching that Valentine's Day pin Daisy bought, but I decided not to bid on it. Glad it went to a good home!
And Daisy, give me all your dresses, and your checkbook too!
Thanks! I find the best repro sundresses in strange places, like the Marshall's sale rack! lol Thanks for the compliment, you're sweet! It's actually a dress, but the seams are so fragile it might end up a sweater eventually!
I wouldn't consider myself a collector, but my wardrobe is largely from the early 40s thru the 50s and into the early 60s. The bulk of my dresses are late 40s/early 50s, and I do have some go go dresses and vintage suits that are "Jackie O" styled. Usually I have the boxy jackets tailored to...

I'd say cuffed jeans and a few tops, plus a pair of closed-toed shoes you don't mind getting completely covered in dust or mud (if there's rain). For hair, I'd do a cold set, wear it curled the first day, rolled the second, then in a scarf or bandana the last two days.
Have a blast!
Yes! My friend bought it a few years back at Viva, and it looked FABULOUS on her. She was about 5'5", size 14, and it made her look amazing. She bought it in black. I loved it!
I love when people don't know what they have. At a particular estate sale, I was able to get a red Dofan purse in mint condition for $10, a jadeite place for 25 cents, a pink confetti lucite beaded necklace for a quarter as well, and my boyfriend bought about 12 1940's ties for a few dollars...
