My bet is on a Japanese collector. Johnny Depp doesn't seem to go much for vintage clothing brands per se; he's more concerned with the look of the piece.
Agreed. It could be mid 1920s to '30s.
I think the overcoat's price is related solely to its maker. My hunch is that some Japanese collector of all things "Boss of the Road"/"Standard" saw this particular overcoat and flipped out --probably because he he'd never come across one before...

Well, the clothes were pretty good. Especially the authentic vintage Edwardian ones, many of which were utterly destroyed during the sinking scenes...
