    Need a new idiot box.

I have the Sony I bought in 1990, it's still going. But then I have also have the Dumont my Grandmother bought in Dec 1949, I suppose I'll have to buy one of those digital converters when the FCC mandated changeover happens. Sometimes you get lucky.

Are you aware that I have not owned a Television for 5 years?

Other than TCM and using it to run DVDs, I don't watch that much anymore. Mostly, I run it to keep the dog entertained when I go out.

    Your signature cocktail.

I hope you aren't making absinthe from one of those junk internet :eusa_doh: "kits":eusa_doh: or those awful :rage: erowid recipes:rage: . Steeping herbs in alcohol does not make absinthe. The only proper way to make absinthe is by distillation, and that would mean breaking Federal law. And...

    Transmitting your own signal

The tube unit that I use works well and has decent sound quality, though it's not quite the same as the above transmitter, so I can't say how the MW-250 sounds. I'd imagine a Collins rig is a good deal more expensive most people would justify, to play OTR recordings through their collection...

    What's your favorite martini?

Junipero Gin with a good amount of Vermouth, or Lillett Blanc, and Regans Orange bitters, makes a great 1930s style Martini.

How many 78s do you have? (w/ image gallery)

I've never counted mine, I have five, or six boxes of 78's, plus several Edison Diamond Discs, and a box full of 2min and 4min Cylinders. When I first started, I began a list, then bought the better part of a collection at an estate sale, plus the ones my Mom & Dad had from the days when my Dad...

    The Animated Feature

Sky Captain was a jumbled silly mess. The Lobby Cutout I saw was more interesting than the film. I think an animated Fleischer styled Superman would have worked better than the live action modern versions, but then I think Superman as a character works best in pre W.W. II setting. Of course...

    Where is my robot?

In vertical flight mode you'd better hope you have a heck of lot of altitude for the Skycar to "hopefully dead stick". Or have that ballistic 'chute open. Frank Piasecki once told me these non autorotating VTOL craft will be trouble if, and it's a big if they ever can become operational...
