Fixing my new whippet...
I may be mistaken here too, but I believe that celanese yarn tag and the fact that the crown of that lid is quite straight suggests that it's a 40's lid. the crown of the newest of my whippets has quite a bit more taper than the older ones. -

Jeff, my oxblood is their #1 crown. The newest one, the slate gray, is their #5 crown. I was specific with Tiffani that I wanted a 1940's Whippet clone with a nice straight, high crown. Their #1 crown is lower and more tapered. The #1 crown gives the hat a more modern look IMO. Here's my... -

What is your favorite Scotch Whisky?
I bought a bottle of McClelland's Islay Single Malt. I was told it's bottled young and therefore is less expensive. I wanted to try an Islay as I'd never tried one before and didn't want to pay $75 or $100 for a bottle I didn't like. What can you tell me about this one? Any opinions would be...- BobC

I would have been right in line with you for the thunder gray, but they didn't have any more thunder gray bodies. I thought the slate gray was very nearly the same color. The fact that it's a light weight pulled me over. -
