Had a SoC tonight along with some friends most of whom had never smoked a cigar before. We had a little cigar smoking seminar on the deck. I showed them to proper way to cut, toast and light as well as retrohale to get the best tasting of fine cigars.
Welcome to the lounge, psugrad. You'll like it here.
My wife used to be dismayed too, but she's gotten used to it by now. Now if I say anything about what she wants to buy she just asks me how many hats I have and how many cigars I buy. :D I get this a lot....
Had a Punch Upper Cut compliments of Mr. Paladin tonight. I've had this one in the humi since Monteagle, but after Tom's recommendation I thought I ought to give it a go. Good cigar. Nice flavor and spiciness through the nose. Thanks, Mr. P. My humidors are filling up fast!
Nice hats today.
Paddy, the Nostaglia looks fantastic, and so does the lady. ;)
Jimmy, Feltfan, Bolt and Mr. P, as usual.
Craig, you might as well give up that panama and look for another one for you. Mrs. H wears it very well.
Bart, great hat and cool B&W's.
I like the...
KimC and I are celebrating anniversary #12 today. Tonight it's dinner at our usual anniversary place, Jim's.
This whippet hasn't seen much daylight since it came back from a cleaning at Optimo. It's not the color I wear most, but it seems to fit the bill tonight.
Today, another Panama blocked by Tom Gomez with another striped ribbon. This one is a montecristi from Panama Bob that Tom and I designed together. He's working on another brisa for me that will be more western flavored with a leather band. I'm anxious to see how that one turns out, but I expect...
Yesterday's hat and most likely today's as well. This is a vintage Stetson Cuenca brisa weave panama refurbished and restyled by Tom Gomez. The loose weave is excellent for warm weather. It lets air flow through freely, keeping my exposed scalp nice and cool. Thanks, Tom. I'm looking forward to...
AB SoC tonight with a taste of Laphroaig. I bought these with the idea I could toss them if need be without feeling guilty since they're so cheap, but I have yet to toss one before it was burning my fingers. And the Laphroaig....thanks again Mr. P. ;)
