Your house had its own charming appeal in the 1890's. However its current look is also pleasant, and no doubt more up to modern codes as well as easier to maintain. It certainly is roomier. I wish I had photos of my home in the 1890's to compare with today.
I believe I recall seeing Edward's China photos in khaki gear(or something similar). I have a question about stain resistant treatment for khaki garments. Is there any product which does a good job and does not need frequent re-treatment?
When "A Family at War" ran in the USA back in the mid '70s I made sure to not miss an episode. My new bride at the time became annoyed at times when I chose to forgo other activities to keep up with the saga. Fortunately it did no permanent damage to our relationship.:D

Warbaby, you must have excellent eyesight to work with Z scale. Even N scale gets too blurry for older model RR fans. HO is as small as I can go nowadays(being over 50).
It looks like a well made jacket. As said previously, not an A1, but if you like it and are not concerned about historical accuracy then go for it. The price looks quite reasonable. What have you got to lose if you are not using it for re-enacting purposes? Nothing.

I am not a jacket collector, Shooter. It just isn't in my budget. I have only 4 leather coats, one of them an A2 repro. I do enjoy looking at any flight jacket collections.
