I think I put this on before but since we see that wonderful 1953 omega, this is my (I think it a 52' but might be a 53 also) seamaster... has the rare date at the 6 position... bumper wind.
the lee 101j fits different than the Levi (say type 3)
The lee's cuffs are much slimmer than the levi. The shoulders are not as square as the levis and the waist is slimmer too.
so depending on your body type, if you're more square, than the Levi's will fit better. If you're more taper...
my 1935 cap has a snap.
not saying all do, just they did exist. I have two hat people caps without snaps. And love them all.
and in the pic from the film of Tom Joad it looks like his has snap on his brim....
Finding the almost perfect hat...almost.
so I thought I finally found the perfect hat... A lovely royal deluxe Stetson...
taupe color, black band... bow in back... tear drop early 50's shape... lovely hat... the one I've been looking for...
then I find of all things it's too big! I wear...
Yes it is different than their standard FQHH. The color is different and of course it's a bit lighter.
The hide is not as "oily" as there standard hide. If you ask what they have laying around in the back they might be able to help you. Sometimes they have bits left over that's not enough...
no sorry if that read wrong.. It was some old stock Aero had... I didn't supply it. they had enough at the time to make a couple of jacket but not enough to make a full run...
I'm not sure of his unit. I know he was 6 foot 200 pounds and he said any man that was that big was sent to the calvary. I know he walked supplies over the hump and fought the Japanese. I think he used mostly mules. I remember he said they cut the mules tongues out so they wouldn't make any...
growing up, my neighbor was in WWII in the Calvary.
He delighted me stories of the war and showed me some of the stuff he bought back.
He was stationed for most of the war using mules on the Hump...
I agree it could be a tad smaller, but HD is showing a highwayman not a half belt... unless I missed a pic...
Plus this is not aero's 30's halfbelt, but their standard one.
what do you want to spend? Why not just wait a little longer and save up for the boots you really want instead of settling for pair that's kinda-close...
I put this in the workwear, but I guess I should have put this here...
I just made this one.. it's not perfect in any way, but it's my first attempt...
this is the pattern I used. I'm going to try a work shirt this weekend.
