My father would have had a heck of a time with the new rules, he didn't have a first name. For some reason, my grandparents just gave him a first initial and a middle name which he always used. Of course, when he joined the Navy in WWII, they couldn't deal with a first name that was only an...
That's the dress I'm wearing in my avatar, only in a different color of course ;) . I love it and get compliments every time I wear it.
I say, go for it!
Magic 63 (KIDD) in Monterey, California! It plays a mix of 40s, 50s, & 60s during the day with special features like Sinatra at 5 (five Frank songs in a row each day at 5pm), Central Coast Swing, Way Back Now, and some Music of Your Life programming.
I used to work in the local historical...
I have the prettiest mint green floral dress with flutter sleeves that I bought for the Gatsby Summer Afternoon in Oakland a couple of years ago (and then got a case of shyness and didn't go) so that will be my Easter dress this year.
It would look perfect with my favorite little pink cloche...
Don't worry, they say 50 is the new 30 and I'm going to hold "them" to that in 5 years!
My sister, who is 20 years older than I am, refused to age past 39 for ever and ever and only recently has moved herself somewhere in her 40's. She hates the fact that I keep catching up to her imaginary...
Bonnie Jean - your hairstyle is exactly what I've been trying to do for a while now, with not nearly your level of success!
I want to get Hot Sticks but I find 2 different manufacturers - Conair(on Ebay) or BaByliss (on Amazon). Which set are y'all using? I'm thinking probably Conair? I've...
Tragically unhip one raising my hand here. ;)
I love brooches and almost always wear one when I dress for work. I get a lot of comments and I love wearing something that nobody else is. I have more of a novelty collection rather than vintage but vintage is my next step.

"Another primitive method of hair removal, actually used by women as late as the 1940s, involved rubbing off the hair by rubbing skin with abrasive mitts or discs the consistency of fine sandpaper."
My mother, who was a...
Having recently worked for several years in Carmel, California the number one question we get is "isn't Clint Eastwood the mayor there?"
They always seem so surprised to hear he hasn't been the mayor for almost 20 years now. lol
Your dress sounds lovely and the shoes are perfect, I love the bits of color.
I just LOVE weddings (my husband would tell you I'm wedding obsessed, but what does he know? lol ) so I'm hanging on your every word. :eusa_clap Did I see in another thread that you have a vintage wedding book...
Yes, I definitely had that problem when I used Bare Minerals and I eventually found it to be much too drying.
I've been using Aromaleigh for the past week and haven't had the sensitivity problems. Supposedly there's a specific ingredient in some mineral makeup that can irritate sensitive skin.
Another Floridian checking in
No horse poop here in Mickeyland.....but we do have a neighborhood armadillo....which, I know, means nothing to anybody else but I think it's cool. ;)
No, not too late. I went to my Walgreens just yesterday and found the Scarlett display. It was about 2/3 full and I was able to pick up the eye liner and a "Buttoned Up Red" lipstick.....will probably be going back today to snag some of the eye shadow.
