I still have have some from the seventies, purchased at Worth &Worth, I guess that makes me close to older than dirt. My more recent are from DelMonico and Bencraft.
Looks Great!!!!! I spoke with Jeff yesterday about the sage Strats, So far he has only received Caribou which I assume is the one your wearing. Hopes to have more in soon. Can't wait for mine. Sport that lid in the best of health

Sorry, not up to speed o posting photos yet. I do have one hat in what I would describe as light milk chocolate made by Shorty at Caboy hats that's a beauty. I never heard of Watson's. I had several hats made for me by Aztex hats also located on Cave Creek road but that was at least 15 years...
You are correct. Both are Premier. I noticed DelMonico has posted the new Excellent Strat. on their website and offering in sage. I placed an order with Jeff about a month ago for a sage, I'll call him today and check if he actually has them in and if they are due to be shipped. Still waiting...
I noticed the same thing. Glad I ordered my Grand Central when I did, still haven't received it though it's been only a month, with the discount at the time it was a good deal. I have an Excellent Strat on order with Jeff and a custom from Tony B. on order.
Just got off the phone with Tony, placed an order. Aside from ordering a hat, the man was an absolute pleasure to speak with. I cannot help but to know I will be more than pleased with his creation for me. Thank you Tony.
My home is a hat and clothing repository but, I'm still buying. I dunno, I think it's like collecting wearable art. I have hats new in box, many, never worn, but I keep convincing myself they will all be worn at some time, and they will. SOOOOO, I can't offer any advice. Where's that Churchill?
I generally cant my hats slightly to the right and down in front, fedoras. Westerns I generally wear square on and down somewhat. Of course if I looked like any of the stars of yesteryear I wouldn't have to fuss much.
My Stetson Milan Strat fits perfect, I'm a 71/8. I find hats for me anyhow, tend to shrink a bit. I suppose you could stretch a milan, I sometimes have to stretch my felts if not worn in a while. If your between sizes I would err on the larger side.
I don't have a vintage Strat to do a comparison only modern Premiere and Royal deluxe. The premiere IMO has the edge. The Royal is nice but the brim is a bit floppy, doesn't snap. The Premiere is mink and the Royal is cornhill. I like both hats. Only comparison to vintage would be my OR's, their...
Love everything Cagney wore , Cary Grant could make a pizza on his head look good, same for William Powell. Heck I love them all, especially straight up tall crown hats. Thanks all for providing me with a bit of nostalgia.
I find that just about every time I lay the hat aside for a while I see something I hadn't noticed before. Small things, but I see them and then I go back, Yes, I guess it's memory so I correct it. Each hat has it's own quirks.
I generally will use a paper clip at the brim to find center while wearing the hat and then eyeball up to crown. Crease front to back. I find holding the hat centered under a light from above will show any imbalances when working the crown, shadows from side light can distort my view of the...
Speaking for myself. I have several vintage Stetsons purchased as new, never worn, and some hardly worn like new. I also have some lesser known vintage I like every bit as much as the Stetsons. I also have a couple of duds. Yes the early Stetsons and others are fine hats. To me it's about...
I ordered one from Jeff, 6-8 weeks del. possibly sooner, that was about 3 weeks or more ago, so no not yet, I'm sure others will receive theirs sooner than I would, or all at once. Rest assured, evaluations will be forthcoming.
