Wearing wool, though, in the great outdoors. Good for them and their organic ways. ;)

    Customer experiences with Aero Leather

The common denominator with mistakes is that they're mistakes. It's how mistakes by manufacturers/retailers are put right that's important, not the fact that they've happened - unfortunately and for whatever reason. What about a sense of proportion here? I was in the habit of reading this...

I always assumed we were talking a long golden age here. Glad this confirmed by a barkeep. :)

    Cool (But Sold) eBay Stuff

$140 is less than £100. Tell me where you can get a pair of highly-detailed, strongly-constructed, high-rise pants in a good quality durable fabric for less and I'll be all over them like a rash... ;) British denim is a lingering interest of mine. No vintage pair of strides in this fabric in...

    local newspapers...

There's currently a controversial move in the UK with local authorities (town and district councils) producing their own printed 'news' papers at the taxpayers' expense and competing with proper local newspapers - and all this at a time of a decline in news print. The London Evening Standard...

All Things Khaki - Clothing the Vintage Adventurer

Olive drab is khaki's twin: have a look at a book called Khaki Drill and Jungle Green, which has been mentioned in the old Adventurer's Gear Thread. No reason why there can't be a separate OD thread, though. Why not create one right now? :D

All Things Khaki - Clothing the Vintage Adventurer

Repro military khaki is a great way to get kitted out relatively inexpensively for adventuring, and... :offtopic: ...for loafing about being unadventurous. ;) Original vintage military khaki is way better (more durable fabrics, finer cut), but sizing can be a problem and there's nothing...

All Things Khaki - Clothing the Vintage Adventurer

I was thinking that, since we're now in 'The Great Outdoors', maybe we could be a bit more specific about the clothing aspect and distinguish it from 'gear', which might, as we've seen, refer to anything from a truck to leather gaiters. Anyone else feel like getting [more] into khaki...

New Highwayman too short. Help me correct this.

You can only do so much at a distance... :) And if any of this has got you down, remember that opinions are just like televisions... everybody's got one ;) CP

New Highwayman too short. Help me correct this.

I asked for my FQHH Highwayman to be a bit longer than standard and got exactly the length I'd specified. I'd still be wearing it today if I hadn't lost weight and gone down a size. It became uncomfortable because it was the wrong size, not because of the weight of the hide. If I were to buy...

An expensive experiment... The lower-cut the trouser, the higher the jacket rides.

The best afternoon tea in London?

I recommend Fortnum's, but on the word of a trustworthy non-FL source would happily back up the Kate's Ritz recommendation.

    J. Peterman A1

I've a JP jacket and shirt that I got from an Ebay seller. Both are great quality and still going strong a couple of years in with regular wear. The sketches did not do them justice. I still maintain the descriptions are written by someone in the grip of psychosis, though... ;)

Karl Marx used the Swan River Colony to illustrate a point about a shortcoming of capitalism in Das Kapital. I'm glad you're proving that dreary little man wrong... ;)
