My dad didn't like Hogan's Heroes either. We're American (Irish) and didn't lose anyone in the war so that isn't it. He's a very mild man but that show irritated him quite a bit.
As a kid I liked the hijinks and the clever hiding places.
It's better than the alternative, that's for sure.
Chile, Haiti, the past month's snow storms and the rest of the natural disasters recently should bring home to all of us, wherever we live, the reality that, regardless of how good our governments may be, realistically we will always be on...
Based on the action over at SCOTUS today, you'll be (re-)joining us soon. DC was using CA's list and that got shut down quick. :eusa_clap
I like the Walther, that was a good importer call. It allows vintage gun enthusiasts to fill out the stable of WWII handguns for a lot less money.
Alrightee then, New Bern is officially not "most places". :D
I was thinking more urban areas, like an LA County. Smaller pop areas it definitely can work.
That seems crazy. We are definitely living in interesting times right now.
Between Citizens, McDonald, the recent and upcoming Miranda cases, the recent 4th Amendment ruling and all the activity on the sentencing side there's no lack of ways to tie theory into practice.
If it ever was, the criminal law is certainly no longer simple enough to not require a professional to enforce it.
Not to mention population growth and diversity. Even at the county level it isn't possible to know everyone (and thus who the "bad seeds" are) in most places.
Alaska is similar. The Governor is given a list of candidates by the Judicial Board (ensuring qualified, "peer-reviewed" and mostly non-partisan candidates) and the appointees then face regular retention elections.
Still piling through Philosophy excerpts for school, little pleasure reading done.
I did find, via a link from a link, some Jeeves/Wooster parodies. The site is SFW every time I've gone there...
Also congrats!
In practice, who would do the Mirandizing?
Some 18 year old MP working through a local Pashtun interpreter?
Having read some English-to-Yupik ballot explanations up here, I'd love to read the translation text. I'm very confident that Pashtun includes spot-on...
Pink pearl grips (though not m.o.p.) are available for the "J" frame smiths (and for the Taurus 85 which fit identically after drilling a hole for the grip pin).
Ajax grips had them and they are factory available from Taurus. You might check the online auction sites.
Took the prep course, bought the books, did the practice and not one of the puzzles seemed to resemble what I'd worked on. I'm hoping that was the "experimental section".
Harp,
I like Kant, with a side of Aquinas and Mill. All that springs to mind with Wittgenstein is that he was...
Hello again all, I've been prioritizing school.
Took the LSAT on the 6th, scores back on the 1st I guess, graduate in May with my 20-year-plan BA in Justice (minor in Philosophy, which I'm enjoying the hell out of).
Pretty sure I did very well, except on the logic puzzle section...
You can carry a full-size 1911 under an untucked t-shirt (not that you would for fashion's sake) with a proper belt and holster. Polo/bowling/guyabara's? Child's play. The A-2 being so short isn't "easy" but it's very doable.
Discreet carry is about not touching the gun every few minutes...
Reading the book after Mystic River and the McKenzie/Genarro mysteries was a bit of a shock. From the trailer, the mood of the book seems to be reproduced spot on.
It would seem to be easier to simply not go into a thread with a title/subject that clearly shows it concerns a topic you don't like/respect than to waste your time/disdain by popping in simply to complain about it.
Those who care will read and respond and you can go about your merry way...
I bought one of the CMMG "scratch and dent" 16" M4's a month ago.
Have yet to find the alleged finish imperfection, very nice rifle.
Put a Magpul BUIS and Vortex Strikefire (nice mid-ish level red/green dot, waiting for a deal on an Aimpoint) on it. Fills the evil black hole bwtween my...
I second the motion to try other brands of ammo. I'm carrying the Golden Sabre now, used to carry Hydra-shok.
The Gold Dot is good stuff as well, there's really no performance difference between the major maker defensive ammo anymore, heck, half the bullet designs are by the guy who...
