There already is such a show on the West Coast...it's called Inspiration. Feb. 10th & 11th 2012. Primarily men's vintage with a small smattering of women's. There are repro brands as well, but the vintage is the top stuff.
Unfortunately, as I'm sure you already know, 99% of all dealers of vintage clothes (at least at shows) sell primarily women's clothing. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
The inlaid technique looks interesting, but would give me a little worry about it weakening the belt in the long run. Do you have an examples of tooled belts you've made?
Well, I've seen belts using all kinds of different materials including vinyl, fabric, etc.. I tend to use a thinner leather. I've also seen belts where the shapes were "inlaid" into the belt by cutting them out.
This one reminds me a bit of a Brown's Beach (until reversed of course):
