Gentlemen's Vintage Clothing Show & Sale in NYC

There already is such a show on the West Coast...it's called Inspiration. Feb. 10th & 11th 2012. Primarily men's vintage with a small smattering of women's. There are repro brands as well, but the vintage is the top stuff.

Gentlemen's Vintage Clothing Show & Sale in NYC

Unfortunately, as I'm sure you already know, 99% of all dealers of vintage clothes (at least at shows) sell primarily women's clothing. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

The inlaid technique looks interesting, but would give me a little worry about it weakening the belt in the long run. Do you have an examples of tooled belts you've made?

    Reproduction Western Belts

Well, I've seen belts using all kinds of different materials including vinyl, fabric, etc.. I tend to use a thinner leather. I've also seen belts where the shapes were "inlaid" into the belt by cutting them out.

    Vintage or fable?

I have no idea, but there is too much making things older than they really are going on in a lot of eBay listings. I see it every day almost.

This one reminds me a bit of a Brown's Beach (until reversed of course): Classic Fit 1920 Collection Reversible Vest http://www.eddiebauer.com/catalog/pr...e=EB&viewAll=y

    Vintage Workwear

I think it did OK for a 50's hat in a tiny size. Still good for something the seller likely paid nothing for.

There are some places, but you are going to have a hard time getting most of them to ship to the UK. Did you try Tandy leather?

I've seen a couple buckles like that Marc. I believe they are a piece of leather fastened over the buckle. Very neat!

A.C. Lyles - yeah, that's not at all what's going on in the process of making a studded belt. I'm sure you had a good laugh.

Call a priest, I think I just died laughing

No worries, most people that would be stupid enough to buy this could have the $350 to do it with.
