Though a lot of the older [Western] remedies seem to help me curb the symptoms, nothing at all helps me shorten the cold and help me get over it better than Yin Qiao. Considering that it's 150 years old, I'd call it a vintage remedy.
I did a research report on it recently, and it really does...
Ugh, I can't believe the nerve of that short guy! Woe betide the man who asks me to take off my heels...
I've had mixed experiences with bigger guys. One I dated was really, really gentle around me...a little too gentle for my taste. The other didn't seem to realize how delicate my weight...
Haha, maybe I'm just weird! I've dated men a lot taller than I, but I've always preferred guys more average (even shorter) in height. My last boyfriend was 5'9", and I loved resting my head in that niche between his neck and shoulder.
I'm not short, but I've always been very thin, so...
Hehe, I love vintage cookbooks! I don't have any from the 40's, but I have one from the 50's and another from the 60's. I never knew the many uses of 7 Up...
The coolest old lady was selling her vintage things at my work today, and I ended up buying this fabulous bag:
My mermaid purse!! The seahorse, shells, coral, etc. are all real. I'm in love.
The lady told me I look like a movie star, too! Awww.
The new week leaves me feeling a little cuter. I know my outfits have been kind of repetitive lately...that's because I've been mixing and matching a lot of the things I don't wear so often.
Vintage Parisian hat -- Antique co-op.
Necklace -- Paraphernalia.
Blouse -- Margaret O'leary...
I currently take an issue with most of the companies that were completely different establishments in the Golden Era. I wish most of these brands practiced the same ethics they were (hopefully) founded upon. Instead of shopping by brand name, I always try to support smaller companies that...
Same here. I have been slowly building my makeup kit for a while now, and doing so has been an investment in itself, since the first things I look into when I'm purchasing makeup are the company's ethics, the safety of the ingredients, and if the products are okay for my sensitive skin...
I'm really interested in the association so many women seem to have between their own height and that of the men they date.
Why is that? Is it because it seems to make men feel more confident about their, erm, tall manliness? Or does it make you feel more protected...? Are taller men...
Lowering carbon emissions and promoting energy conservation?
Bleh, I give up, because I fear that this issue might turn into one of those dreaded political discussions...even though it doesn't need to.
That sounds lovely!
I'm battery-powered and in the dark right now. I wish I had some environmentally-conscious friends in my hall to play hide-and-seek with. It's so quiet! Maybe I should study this way more often.
I'm lucky that I have a laptop with an hour's worth of battery charge, because I've got a lot more research to do tonight. I'm turning off everything except my air purifier (I'm allergic to dust).
She did get her money back, eventually...it was just a big hassle.
And yes, my mom is wonderful!! I think she's grateful that my sister and I have our own, unique styles...while other moms have to tell their girls that they can't leave the house with their butts hanging out of their skirts.
