Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Thanks pjt113, gtdean48, and Benzadmiral, I'm really excited about the hat and quite happy with the price too. That's a swell lid Bob, my experience with vintage lids and the different types of fur finishes and brim edges is still pretty limited, so I'm really looking forward to my recent...

    How many hats is enough?

Hat accumulation is very hard to combat, not only is there always that one color, brand, or style you're trying to get your hands on, but the hunt itself is so thrilling. My name is Marshall and I'm a hatoholic. ;)

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Well, I pulled out the stops for this one (I previously haven't bid more than $100 for a hat). http://www.ebay.com/itm/MEN-VTG-RESISTOL-BEAVER-TWENTY-Kitten-Finish-FUR-FELT-FEDORA-HAT-7-3-8-1950s-VLV-/290633735746?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43ab1ede42 I honestly didn't expect to win...

    Countdown To Christmas!!

Edward, I have to agree with you on all the early Christmas decorations. I really, really love Christmas, but some of the specialness is lost when decorations and music start in early November (I saw a few stores even start in October).

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Okay, I just have to lament this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170728538837 Beautiful Dobbs Fifteen 7 3/8 BIN for $87. It looked like there might be some minor stains on the outside, so I sent a message asking about that and the price of shipping. Twenty minutes...

FS: Dobbs Universitas 7 3/8 Long Oval

Here is a Dobbs Universitas fur-felt fedora, 7 3/8 long oval. Felt is very nice, this hat holds dry bashes well. Liner is in great shape, the sweatband is also in pretty good condition (there a couple of cracks, but the sweatband is still soft and pliable). Dimensions: Snap Brim Raw...

Very Soft, Velvety, Vintage Borsalino in Unusual Color, Roomy 7 & 1/2 For Sale

This is just a thought, but it may be that the listing didn't show up in common ebay searches. I search almost daily for hats in the 7 1/2 size range, but I don't recall this one showing up (maybe because the way it was titled). I'm sorry you didn't get a better price scotrace.

    Your Hat Addiction...and your spouse

It's easy for me, being as I'm single right now. Though my family will occasionally give me a hard time about my hats, though fortunately it's shifted from the "are you crazy!" phase to the mildly amused "another one huh?" phase.

What's the brim and ribbon dimensions? And which picture would you say best represents the hat's color?

    Post New Hats Here!

Believe it or not, that's actually the Pilgrim. It apparently was a pretty obscure brand compared to Dobbs, Knox, and Stetson, but I must say that it is a pretty nice hat, good quality felt. Thanks for the compliments suitedcboy and Alex!
