Christys Adventurer "steel grey" - a difficult color?
I have what I call a medium grey Stetson Fedora. It's seems a little off when I wear it with dark clothes where it is just a shade lighter. It works best (to me) with clothes that are lighter than the hat making it the darkest of the colors. -

Have you used any of the 'sponges' to clean stains? I saw a package of 2 sponges for $1.99 on a website and wondered if they really made a difference cleaning small stains. -

As far as hooks for hat bands and pugs... I wouldn't think there would be anything so special about them that a dupilcate hook couldn't be found in any sewing supply or fabric shop. Maybe even Walmart and Target's fabic dept. Probably should be coated or something to lessen making stains... -

This seems to me to be the most feasible. and the least noticeable. Yep... it would have to be a someone well versed in the Art of weaving. I have a feeling you will find out the answer.....if not for repairing your own hat...just for the sake of acquiring further knowledge about Panamas. -

This may be very obvious....but, I don't see it. You said "sending it in for re-weaving".....How would someone go about re-weaving a tear like that? Would a section be removed and a new section be woven in or would the area around the tear be un-woven and new straw pieces be woven in... -

Hmmm...interesting.... that would explain why an inexperienced or novice hat wearer might sense there was something a little different about a ribbon but, couldn't quite "put their finger" on what the difference is......except for the design of the edge of the ribbon. Thanks for the basic... -
