Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Good point.... I have a small covered patio with a picnic table on it. That might be a good place to take photos of things on a sunny day.

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

A question about eBay photos vs FL photos. This probably should have gone in the 'ask a question' thread. But, I am hoping for imput from Loungers that regularly post photos here and also on eBay. I have noticed a fairly large number of eBay hat photos that are dark, washed out or just not...

    The Resistol Roundup

Risistol question. What would be the quality of felt with..Kitten finish Kings Beaver and the cat figure on the sweatband? Sweatband has the imprinted ring around the sweatband. I think this may indicate a newer hat.

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Thanks....I did notice a hat on eBay with a opening bid of $9.99 shipping from California with a postage of $30.40 I don't know if "carping" comes from envy so much as from being pissed about inflation. but, I was rather envious of the lady ahead of me at the grocery store that bought 2...

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

For Free ...... yeah but, how much is the shipping....and could you have the hat cleaned and blocked for that price. lol Auctually, it may not be so much the brim width as the time frame the hat was manufactured...the perceived quality of the hat with a stingy brim.

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

I don't sell on eBay and have no idea about the fees. I wonder what the fees to the seller would be on a hat selling for $435. Maybe some of the eBay sellers could supply some input.

It may have only gone that high with the flow of the bidding. The hat may not have gotten any bites with a BIN in that price range.

    Heart attack {Chief000731 Carl}

Haven't been on the Lounge since last week, so I just read about Chief's health problem. Sad to hear about his health scare. But, good to hear he's doing better and on the way to recovery. The positive thoughts coming from Lounger's from all parts of the country and from other...

I agree.....If the measurements and the size don't make sense.....I don't bid. I may miss a few by not rolling the dice, but, it lessens my chances of getting some hats I can't wear.

I expect to run into a few stray "dogs" .......but, they run in packs on eBay  while the "pearls" rarely come out of the oysters.... and the "semi-pearls" usually end up in a bidding frenzy and end up out of my hat budget :frown: It would do some ebay sellers good to thumb...

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

I have gotten to the point of asking for the size and the circumference measurement and if they don't jive...I ask for side to side - front to back measurements.....If they don't get the info...I don't bid. Just last night i backed off of 2 hats from the same seller because when i asked them...

Ask a question, get an answer

Thanks, I have 2 hats with liners that really need to be cleaned. I'm just not ready to do the whole naphtha bath thing..... I took one out and cleaned it carefully all around except for the top area instead of submerging the whole liner in the water to wash it. The top wasn't as bad as the...

Ask a question, get an answer

it is simple.....they are thinking from their point of view instead of the buyers point of view....... Basic selling.....put yourself in the buyers place....learn why they would want your product and what they need to know to buy it..................another practice that has mostly gone by the...

Ask a question, get an answer

I have read through, ok, skimmed through, several threads about cleaning hat liners. Didn't see my question addressed. When removing a hat liner with the plastic covering on the logo and washing it in Woolite and cold water does the plastic become spotted with water and dirt residue...

Help Me Finish the Johnnyphi Project with a Bang!

How was the fit of these hats? Several months ago I checked out his site for a couple of hats. My concern was that the hats may have shrunk. I have lost a bit of weight recently and am now in between hat sizes. I have had to go a size smaller than I was buying. With the size...

They do a very good job with their hat advertisments. Lots of pics, descriptions, selling the sizzle..... The Ford Pinto, Chevy Vega and the AMC Grimlin were sold the same way  lol

The layman's guide to classic hats

Pork Pies are, as you ranked them, even less formal than Fedoras. They're a little on the nutty side and work well with more casual styles, but can also be worn with suits. hey wait a minute......pork pies are a little on the nutty side????? I just bought a Mallory pork pie milan...
