"Doctor Who," He's Back and it's About Time!

lol I know, it's a great cast isn't it? I wonder which women will be in this version? So, let's see, if I'm in the UK between October 2nd and November 15th next year I could see both plays...

    Special Features

I love commentaries if they stay on point. So many of them lapse into "the gaffer was a wonderful guy; the set designer was a great gal; the location scout was terrific" with no elaboration. That's all very nice, but it doesn't help my understanding of the film. Off the top of my head...

Can you help me date this item??

Guh! Look at that beading! Off the top of my head I'd guess late 50's but I'll eagerly await the label.

    Jeff Goldblum

Jeff Goldblum always sort of irritated me until I saw him in The Tall Guy. He won my eternal love in that movie, which is one I quote endlessly ("Do you know many women called Tampon?"). That movie contains the best response to the "she meant nothing to me!" line after Goldblum's character...

    The Villain

Claude Rains in The Adventures of Robin Hood. I know a lot of people would go for Basil Rathbone in this movie, but I think Claude trumps him. Marion: I'd do it again even if you killed me for it! Prince John: Prophetic speech my lady, for that is exactly what is going to happen to you...

    Golden Era Safeguards

More needed now than then I fear. Great graphics--I especially like the Co-Eds. Does anyone else find it interesting/sad that all those tins are in such pristine, unused condition?;)

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

LOL! I looked up Kinsey but not the gall wasps (although I did ponder where you'd keep 5 million gall wasps!). The footage of the animals at the end cracked me up--the ferrets chasing each other like crazy, the birds, the guinea pigs.

"Doctor Who," He's Back and it's About Time!

Thanks for more details about the lovely Sophie. And Hamlet! From a fansite: "July 24th thru November 15th 2008 sees Tennant in Hamlet alongside Patrick Stewart playing Claudius. Fans of the new series will also be excited to note that from October 2nd thru November 15th 2008 Tennant...

When I was really broke I cut cereal boxes and covered them with gift wrap to use as magazine holders. I've upgraded to wooden ones from IKEA--they have them made from various materials from .49-6.99 each. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/rooms/workspace/10567/

That projector is great Starius! Recently I picked up: A vintage shaker--it is unmarked but it looks like 1930's aluminum. Missing the spout (I might be able to replace it) but since I paid $3.00, who cares? It's difficult to see but there are 4 sets of deco insiced lines as...

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

I watched Kinsey last night too (Independent Film Channel Quigley?) and I really liked it. I'm fond of Laura Linney and I love Bill Condon's work. Also, I noticed during the end credits that Timothy Hutton was in this as one of the researchers but I didn't recognize him at all. I'll have to...

I adore Drusilla--she had the best lines; "I'm naming all the stars... I can see them. But I've named them all the same thing, and there's terrible confusion." Season 2 of Buffy, good stuff. I can't wait to see her picture out of character in CS!

What was the last TV show you watched?

You crack me up--that's exactly what those shows are like! I'm currently addicted to Globe Trekker, a travel show with many different hosts and very nice cinematography. Ian Wright in particular is very entertaining. I saw an episode on New England today--always funny to see a show about a...
