Wow, Hatophile, I like that one - it has a clean look, goes well with your tie. Reminds me of the 60's when my grandfather used to wear a hat looking like it. Hmmm, I wonder. I think he was a Stetson man.
PS, I've been liking ANC cycling this weekend. I've been wearing bicycle caps, a helmet, and a Tilley sun hat this weekend. I'll spare everyone the photos! :-)
Thanks Loz, you're giving me confidence. I'm new at this, but porkies have always looked so cool. That Black Sheep looks exquisite! The wind cord and wide ribbon, wow!
I'm a newbie, really liking the porkpie look. Lots to explore. The closest I come so far is this Biltmore 1 1/2" diamond-crown stingy, which I like brim-up. A real pie should have an oval crown, correct? I'm thinking of going and getting a felt one even though it's still August!
Biltmore stingy diamond-crown in blue. Pls pardon the diagonal. I was at a stop light at at busy intersection, and the lighting was good. So I was in a bit of hurry!
The Ray-Ban Clubmasters are great with it. I really like good stingies, and this one exudes class. I see tons of $19 stingies and street-vendor Trilbies here in NYC. I think "Where's the taste?" But when I see one like this, I have hope again!
Lots of good Mexican restaurants there now, maybe more towards Corona.
I also saw a very interesting Mexican sombrero shop on Roosevelt Ave. Stacks and stacks of Western hats with curled brims. Mostly straw. I should go visit sometime!
Alan. yes, I live in Flushing, work in midtown Manhattan. More Optimo news shortly.
Hatophile, thanks for the info. I like looking at hats too!
Mike, I'm liking that stingy!
