How could I forget that one! I loved it, too! Since it came out originally, when I saw it in its entirety, I catch bits of it from time to time. Mousie, mousie...lol
I started to watch the "reimagining" but it didn't really hold my interest, except that I found the woman who played Anna...
Oh, Lord, I remember that stuff; my nan used to work in a school and she would bring loads of it home. I can't recall if I was mad for it or anything, but I know I'd be able to pick it out of a blind taste test! When did they stop that stuff, or is it still being made in some corner of the States?
Hill Street Blues
Kolchak - The Night Stalker
Cagney and Lacey
Quantum Leap
You Bet Your Life
MST 3K
American Gothic
Twin Peaks
Night Gallery
Dark Shadows (the original)
Dr. Who (up to and definitely including Tom Baker)
Sorry, 11, but who's counting? :)
In a vague order of...
Adopting a vegetarian diet, I would say, and exercising. I can't prove it, but I often have people guesstimating my age at about a decade less than it is, and I feel in my heart that this and keeping the spine and limbs flexible through yoga, Pilates and dance have done the trick for me...
I'll second that one; I've had memorable sorbets and gelatos, but the best ice cream by far was the hand-churned vanilla that my granny used to make. Bar none. And this I remember from 25-30 years ago.
Both sound utterly delicious - recipes please!
The last one I made and loved was a grapefruit and tarragon sorbet. Usually the more bizarre the recipe sounds, the more likely I am to try it (as long as it's vegetarian).
Cucumber lemonade - may sound vile but it's yum!
I've never used them on my eyes (I'd really love some at the moment), but have had the squashed variety in spa treatments. Wonderfully cooling, and love the smell!
I second that. Even though I went to University for more years and majored and minored in more subjects than I'd care to admit to, I never finished. In 3 countries to boot. I had been more or less pushed to go by a parent, whether I liked it or not. I have ended up in two professions...
I'll have to go for Judy Garland. For the same reason as Al Jolson. They both seemed to try too hard to make us love them, love them, love them! It was the OTT Broadway show-tune-y-ness of them which I find hard to take. (In a quiet moment, not a problem.)
Definitely in agreement with...
No, you know, now that you mention it, there IS something around the mouth...(but it must be said, I'm always getting the mick taken out of me for saying that the lower half of so-and-so's face looks like the lower half of another so-and-so's face...)
And isn't that cover hairdo [U]awful[U]...
I was in need of some retail therapy a couple of days ago and went to one of the department stores around here - 2 floors of women's clothes, and I was just grossed out by 99% of it. Besides a decidedly evil whiff of '80's vibe, everything I saw seemed to be made with cheap and flimsy-looking...
I had bought some doggy pajamas for my greyhounds and - for a bit of levity - got my girl a pink pair with fluffy white sheep on it. Anyhow, later on I saw a pair of pajamas in an almost exact print, in lilac, at LaSenza. I had to buy it!
Yes, there is a photo. And no, I shan't be...
I've always been an extreme night owl, and if there is no need for me to be awake at 8 a.m. I can easily stay up 'til then! I mostly work evenings &/or afternoons; if I have to get up in the morning I really suffer, and have to nap at some point in the afternoon (or mainline caffeine!)...
Not really an response to the thread's question, but I saw Soldier of Orange the other week and really loved it. Thoroughly recommended if you love the Dutch, or even if you don't!
Okay, I'm really fond of early Verhoeven, before the Hollywood machine got its nasty mitts on him.
Nars Jungle Red lipstick...hmm, wonder if they have a matching nail polish? :)
Jezebel_Amazon, that's not a bad photo at all! You look more glamorous with those wave clamps than, oh, 100% of women I've seen walking around today without them! That red on you is lovely, too; I can see why...
When/where is the tribute taking place, Chas?
Slightly :offtopic: ...
On Tuesday I did my first Ballroom medals test, and chose Artie's Diga Diga Doo for my Quickstep. I hope that gorgeous song helped me to pass!
