Strapped, altogether, a great look. The cap and shirt are balanced by the jacket. I like the Harrington-style....
Perry, another great high-crown combo! I really like the sweater!
David, I like the wide ribbon on that VS!
Today, modern Stetson Stratoliner.

Perry, I like the high crown - it sort of balances the beard.
Steve, that is one luscious looking Prasident! The felt looks incredible. In a whole other league from my retail Biltmore "President" models!
Joao, I was wondering whether you had any "South of the Border"-style Westerns! We have...
I agree with all the above. As a new hat wearer this last summer, I began by wanting less of a hat. So I preferred a lower crown look. I didn't know how to translate that into numbers. It's taken many months for me to understand more of the effects of a low crown vs high crown. Now I see...
Thanks! Cool look, Casechopper! I think this is the first beret I've seen in this thread! Did you wash it to reduce the diameter, or was that an unexpected outcome? I have a local friend here in NYC who wears Tonak berets. He prefers the smaller diameters.

Peter, Mike, Daiza, David, Strapped - looking sharp this morning. Strapped, I like the Champ's wide ribbon!
This morning, a brand new cap from Johnnie Cordova, with a belt back. Sorry for the indoor halogen color values.

Here is the stuff I use. I'm just a beginning hat fan. I'm not too good at shaping felt or straw, not to mention blocking, but I think I'll get there. I'm passable at re-sizing up or down a bit.

Wonderful advertising images! I like them as much as the old photos. They show the idealized uses, contexts and ways of life that were imagined for those items.

Michael, such a nice Stratoliner!
Nice to see you, Che. Nice Panama! Che, you're reminding me - I need to start thinking about Spring and Summer caps.....
David, that's the Cordova Starflower? Nice!
Donegal tweed is nice and soft and warm. I have several caps of this tweed made by Jonathan Richard. I tend to like British-made caps more. (Their famous tweed is Harris.). I find the British caps have a more prominent brim, and look less like a beret on the head.
These are Donegals...
