Well, in all honesty it's a bit hit and miss! You'll notice I sell a lot of jeans on Ebay too - those are the ones that didn't fit. I've worked out that I am a vintage size 12 which is a good starting point but generally I've learned to go for a slightly larger waist measurement than my actual...
Girdles are made of elastic which varies in elasticity according to the level of 'support' required. I don't like my hips to get squished so I tend to buy them a bit big and use it as a sturdy suspender belt!
These are my recent ebay wins...
Cute pale green girdle:
70's dress that I think I can rescue into something 40's-ish:
Snake skin shoes:
Cute umbrella:
Cigarette box which now sits on my dresser containing hair pins:
Some jeans of dubious colour that I may need to...
I get the best colour for my skin by mixing a tiny bit of the blondie with the porcelain. I reckon in summer blondie will be perfect. I don't recommend their finishing powder - I found it slightly pearlescent and very drying.
Case in point:
Perfectly nice blue cashmere cardi ruined by giant shades and gold lamé stretch belt worn too high. I hate that whole 'two waistbands' look - low rise trousers with a belt just under the boobs.
Lily Lolo do a really pale mineral foundation called porcelain:

It doesn't look that pale in the thumbnail on their website but in real life it is very pale without being too goth :)
Fab ringlets Bella!
My amazingly quick and successful french twist and front pomp/roll thing on friday:
Please disregard the cat hair stuck to my sweater!
Fab buys DeadPanDiva - love the Pendleton 49-er (why are they called that by the way?) and the plaid dress is just stunning on you - what a wicked shape (you and the dress!).
I think I used a bit too much hair and it wouldn't curl under properly in the centre - hence the 'split'!! I'll try the backcombing - I never really backcomb as my hair is so thick, but I'll give it a shot on your advice... But then you know I was trying to copy one of your do's don't you...
Why do so many people feel that they have 'imperfections' that need 'correcting'? What is this obsession with perfection? And who decides what perfection is? Why is a big nose worse than a small one? Why are wide hips supposedly less desirable than narrow ones? Who decides on these standards...
I know! It's like some days I get up and look in the mirror and I swear it's a different face! All the things I don't like leap out at me larger than life in a way that is hard to ignore. It drives me nuts!
Thank you for all your lovely lovely comments - I gotta say you people are great for my little ego.
And just for the record, yes I have bad hair days at least twice a week and I have bad face days all the time!!
I know Vivien doesn't have them on her website but I bet if you gave them a call they would ship some over to the US for you. She does denim ones I'm pretty sure and they have a full bodice which is high under the arms. I have a cotton twill pair and I LOVE them!
