The models I mentioned seem to have a pinch toward the front, with brims down, as opposed to rolled western U. S. brims. I can get away with it here in New Orleans. I see hats of this nature all the time, here. It makes a great everyday, every other day/alternate with the true fedora option.
You go, Will.
As for using it only as a work hat.....I don't wear suit and tie much, so I could get away with wearing this to work and about town. This would be a daily beater for the most part. Again, if it's too western, I'm not considering it. I'm really torn over what to do with the next hat.
I've got a modicum of pocket money just now, and I'm debating Akubra in my own mind. And going back and forth betwen a Cattleman, Territory, Colly, or Silver Spur.
Then I complicate it by looking at the Campdraft, Squatter, and the other "fedora" or "city hats." What I like about the Akubra...
The grease fire analogy was particularly appropriate. I have a good friend who is trying to make it in the salsa/sauces business. He makes a fairly tasty mango-habanero salsa among other things.

I'm sorry. That's dancing on the edge of the line. I'm sorry if this inflames, I'm not...
In order for "big business to pay their fair share" whatever the hell THAT means, they'll have to find that money somewhere. And that somewhere will be from those who "consume" from big business. That's right, the consumer. That'd be those of US who buy whatever that business is selling. No...
You're not totally wrong on this at all. There is an air of elitism and condescension here, sometimes, that can be intimidating. Don't let it bother you, instead take whatever knowledge you can glean from it and make informed choices. Like what you wear and wear what you like. Hell, some of us...
I play the pipe organ and piano. Piano was my first instrument, I took lessons for ten years. I took one summer off in high school, and took basic organ lessons; enough to learn the stops and families of stops, as well as playing the pedals.
I've been serving as a Pastoral musician in some...
