    I lost a friend today

So sad, Art. I'll drop an ash in his memory.

Out of the Humidor: The sad demise of pipe smoking

That sounds good to me, Orgetorix. Sounds similar to what I have learned, just need to do it properly.

    Warning: cigar lovers...

I mentioned this on the new Out of the Humidor thread earlier today.

    From one extreme....

I wore it to work on Monday, as it was raining out and didn't want to wear my Montecristi. It got drop marks, that dried and left white drop marks. A couple turns of the sponge at home took care of it. I gave it some steam afterwards and the crown is now a touch shorter. My older son, 11, with...

    FIND YOUR HOUSE

TerraServer photos are older. I was outside when the Google images were shot, as I can see someone at the foot of the driveway. It's post-Katrina as the tree in my backyard is gone; and it's after March 1, 2006. I know this because my buddy who lived in Lakeview, had 7¬? feet of water in his...

Out of the Humidor: The sad demise of pipe smoking

I disagreed a bit with that assertion, as well, Stan. Frog is excellent......."On the Town" AND "On the Bayou." My buddy and I share tins of tobacco, and those are top notch. I JUST realized, I'm such a dumba$$, that this article is now two years old. Those of you who like cigars and...

Out of the Humidor: The sad demise of pipe smoking

Nightcap is nice, haven't had any in a while. Lately I've been smoking some G. L. Pease blends--Macphisto, Haddo's Delight. Another called Margate which is a full flavored English blend, Blue Note, and a blend called Bombay, not certain which blender. Ashton Artisan blend is quite nice, too.

Out of the Humidor: The sad demise of pipe smoking

Peter Carlson in the Washington Post wrote: washingtonpost.com http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/06/18/AR2005061801145_pf.html What a great piece. I'm just beginning the pipe odyssey from cigars and enjoy them both immensely.

Librarian at a university. I don't dress up much, so any hat I wear is matched to the colors of my clothing/accessories.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

I'm wearing the old Royal Stetson that I chronicled on the "....other extreme" thread I posted yesterday.

The failure of the printed word, in a fast-moving environment that borders on the conversational, is what I say.

Kitty, I'd disagree with you a bit. I find this board, especially, the Observation Bar, to have MANY younger folks dressing and acting vintage yet espousing some very non-traditional values. In fact, some of those values seem to clash quite markedly with what was considered, or conventionally...

    Mossant purchased from Baron Kurtz

   :eusa_doh: Wow, thanks. I've never tried anything like that before. I've been very gentle with it and did a simple center dent, that's what's going to work, it seems. But I'll have to simply grasp it by the brim.

    From one extreme....

...the Mossant......to the other. My buddy at work, brought this to me one day. It belonged to his uncle who left the area a couple months ago. He asked me if it was any good and did I want it. He gave me this a couple months ago, it's dirty as hell, especially right around the pinch. I got...
