I picked up a nice Cavanagh (doesn't say) but I'm pretty sure it's a panama. I noticed that inside the band, is written on the panama "TR 1/4 x 9"
It cost $15.00 new.
Pictures to follow...
I also fell in love with the scout, but the scout 600 or scout 1, not the scout II.
it lead to my current truck, a 70 bronco. A bit nicer than the scout, easier to get parts and a true back seat.
Oh and I lived a few years in the Fort Wayne area too.
Getting back to the original idea here. What is it our business if some rich guy wants to have his kids painted like a gap commercial?
The rich guy gets his painting the way he wants it. The artist gets paid to paint, like he likes it and everyone involved is happy for that moment.
I'm not sure about that military requirements of late... Seems that they might be going back to the 80's as you mentioned because nobody is signing up. I know they lowered the levels of intellegence to join and raised the age limit.
Holly Cow!
Why would you want to do that to a jacket? It sounds like a terrible thing to do.
That's just like buying beat/torn jeans. I'm sure it shortens the lifespan of your jacket too.
That can't be good for the cotton threads that hold it together.
Call me Old School, but I...
I'm just checking but is the tone of this thread...
Dressing in traditional european "fine clothing" a sign of morals and values?
While not following this line of dress is someone who lacks morals and values?
I think there is also a part of what people find important to them.
For some it's appearance; clothes, haircuts, jewerly.
For others it's cars; new model, expensive, clean.
For others its their home.
For others it's integrity; always saying what they believe in... the list goes on...
Well I broke down and ordered a set from amazon. $41.00 and free shipping for the complete set... not a bad price for all those dvd's!
thanks for the heads up!
Perhaps the age of the truck running over the hat is parallel to the age of the hat being run over.
such as:
A vintage hat can withstand a vintage to modern truck, where as a modern hat can only withstand a modern truck.
Anyone one have one of each to test my theory?
I was going through a few hats of mine tonight and found my Disney had a Hatters Union tag inside under the liner. I check some others I had and didn't see any others. I don't recall seeing anyone talk about union tags in hats before... Does anyone know the history of them?
I have a few cashmire ones that are great. Seem to be a lot from scotland.
My mom weaves a few when she gets time. I'd go with a woven one over a knitted one as it's more dense and less bulky.
