This is a subject in which I have a huge personal interest. Did you ever hear mention of the conspiracy by GM and the rubber companies to get rid of the streetcars? An awful shame.
BTW - you're referring to the '47 picture with Joan Crawford I take it...
Question I have for other pomade-ites: why does it always say use a "little" or a "scarce" amount of the pomade on the back of the tins? I mean, surely the biggest market is for guys with pomps etc and they use more than a little.
I hear you brother.
The a great picture (inspirational actually) for other members to see and try to emulate. Your mom gave you a nice present... won't it be nice to see that again in say 10 or 20 years? :eusa_clap
FeltFan, this thread sparked me off on a little odyssey. To find out about the aforementioned HFG:
Prelim web info states:
Here's the photodocumentary (Linda showed me one of the units that was in the shop):
Linda told me that the customer holds the metal rod...
Why thanks fella! I've been experimenting with B & W and getting some good results, tho' at first I had a base of Dax Red (the rock hard stuff) for extra hold.
What I like about the B & W is that it's great for re-combs.
My favorite smell is definitely SGB and the only reason I don't use...
:offtopic:
And he was driving Glenn Miller's car ('41 Cadillac covertible) the original of which is owned by Lewis Jenkins in N. Wilkesboro, N.C. (a neighbor, ish?)
I love these type of shots of people with vehicles. People were smaller and generally thinner so the machines looked massive. Look at that bike! Impressive. This was exaggerated in car advertisements where the people were made to look even smaller inside an enormous automobile.
I saw the trailer in the movie house last night. Blew my mind - a cross over between Michael Mann (my favorite director) and the 30s - IN DIGITAL.
The digital was really weird with a vintage setting - I am so looking forward to this one.

Hi, did you know that JJ's building used to be the original IBM office? They even have the original IBM plaque still up on the back wall!
A great place - they are unbelievably friendly.
(In marked contrast to the crackpot owner of Cheap Jacks across the way....) :(
