    the rockabilly scene

??? I don't get why people associate Rev Horton Heat with Rockabilly music? And West Side Story, Grease, Sideburns, Motor Oil? LOL! That's like saying the swing scene is all about Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Gap Khakis. The 30-40's Fedora scene is all about Dick Tracey and Indiana Jones. C'mon...

    the rockabilly scene

You need a secret password and then only then the magical gates of Valhalla open up.. jk! :D It depends where you are. It is not a huge scene to begin with. Try going to a car show (pre '63 type shows), not your normal goldchainer car shows. Look for the Hot Rods, Beaters, Barris type Kustoms...

    Remembering Elvis 30 Years On

Here's remembering Elvis Aaron Presley before he was drafted to the 3AD in '58. Since that, it was never the same. Best Elvis movie - King Creole Best Elvis song - "That's All Right"

What Is There Left To Invent?

Does anyone remember that 1980's movie "The Final Countdown" with Kirk Douglas, Martin Sheen? Just imagine what if or how much changes would have happened if we really foiled the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Would someone who had died in the war had changed the outcome of our future if they...

    WHOS ROCKABILLY?

Mary, I got your PM. I'll have this out to you by the weekend. Is it ok if I skipped the obvious acts like Eddie Cochran, Johnny & Dorsey Burnette, Elvis, etc. that everyone and their mother knows about and record you rare tracks from artist such as the Collins Kids, Dwight Pullen, Jimmy...

    Congrats there!

    WHOS ROCKABILLY?

They can call it whatever they want. It's still not traditional sounding to me. There are bands today that deserve to be called "neo-rockabilly" that still have that traditional sound. If you don't look at the cover of their album and just listen, you would swear it was recorded in the 50's...

What Is There Left To Invent?

If you are talking about Dragon Skin, I have mix feelings about it, but best not to talk about it here. It's nice to have a self damage fixing body armor with the help of nano technology, but if this could do the same to the human body then that would even be more of a miracle.

What Is There Left To Invent?

Back from my MOUT exercise in VA, these are the things I need stat! A way to keep the liquid in your hydration carrier cold at all times. Better, stronger, and most especially lighter body armor. A way to put a cooling system in your RAID DCU's and velcro is god in combat! Unlimited ammo in...

    WHOS ROCKABILLY?

Ah Sonny Rogers.. did a review of their album back some 8 years ago when I still used to do the Rockabilly NYC site. Are these cats still around? Wildfire Willie, another great one, good call!

    WHOS ROCKABILLY?

Good bands but traditional they are not. I wouldn't label them as Rockabilly. The Stray Cats sorta touches the boundary for me but I would rather play a Carl Perkins or an Ultra Kings track. If you don't see a mad man slapping that doghouse bass, then call it something else.

    WHOS ROCKABILLY?

Here are some modern yet traditional Rockabilly type bands I personally enjoy and I would recommend to folks in a heartbeat. Note though that some of these bands are not likely around anymore but albums are available out there. Go Cat Go The Flea Bops The Bourbonaires The Raging Teens Rhythm...

    WHOS ROCKABILLY?

I was scratching my head wondering where you saw that. Not on the Rumblers flyer for the 25th this month. But if you are talking about the Hot Rod Hoedown? Not my show hun. I was just passing it on with it's original content for a friend. ;)

Nice! Tell the fellas howdy from me. Haven't seen those guys since the Rodeo haydays. All On Fire is still a rockin' favorite of mine.

    WHOS ROCKABILLY?

KittyT, speaking of the Raging Teens, Bourbonaires & Racketeers, where you at the reunion show last Sat? I wish I had made it to that this past weekend, but I was with good company nonetheless. Which band is your guy in? If you don't mind me asking.
